Short-Form Video Editor – Fitness & Nutrition Content
About the Role
I’m a fitness coach and content creator looking for a reliable video editor to work with me on short-form fitness, nutrition and educational content for Instagram, TikTok and YouTube Shorts.
I’m looking to test a few editors initially, with the goal of finding one person I can work with consistently long-term as my content output grows.
The editing itself isn’t extremely complicated or effects-heavy. I’m much more interested in someone who understands good pacing, storytelling and keeping the viewer’s attention.
The Content
Most videos will be fitness and nutrition based, including:
* Talking-head educational videos
* Food and high-protein product videos
* Exercise demonstrations
* Voiceover videos
* Gym/fitness content
* Videos using props to explain concepts
* B-roll-based educational videos
* Occasional lifestyle/fitness content
I will often provide the raw footage, voiceover, B-roll and direction. Your job is to turn those assets into a clean, engaging finished video.
Editing Style I’m Looking For
I want clean, modern short-form editing that supports what I’m saying.
This will usually include:
* Removing pauses and unnecessary sections
* Clean jump cuts
* Punch-in / punch-out zooms
* Emphasising important sentences or words
* On-screen captions/subtitles
* Good pacing and retention
* Adding B-roll where appropriate
* Matching B-roll to what I’m talking about
* Simple sound effects when they genuinely improve the video
* Music where appropriate
* Basic colour correction
* Creating a strong first 2–3 seconds
* Understanding when NOT to add effects
The most important thing is that the editing enhances the message rather than distracting from it.
What I’m Looking For
I’d ideally like someone who:
* Has experience editing Reels, TikToks or YouTube Shorts
* Understands short-form content and viewer retention
* Can follow references and recreate an editing style
* Communicates well
* Meets deadlines
* Is comfortable receiving feedback and making revisions
* Has good attention to detail
* Wants consistent long-term work
* Ideally has some interest in fitness, nutrition or health content
You don’t need to be the world’s most advanced editor.
I’d rather have someone reliable, creative and willing to learn my style.
Workload
Initially, I’d like to start with a few videos as a trial.
If we’re a good fit, I’m looking to significantly increase my content output, so there is potential for consistent weekly work and a long-term position.
Some weeks may involve multiple short-form videos, and eventually I’d like an editor who understands my style well enough that I can send over footage with minimal instructions.
Paid Test Edit
For applicants I’m interested in, I’ll provide footage for a paid test edit.
I’ll give you:
* Raw footage
* Any relevant B-roll
* Voiceover if required
* Reference videos/style
* Basic direction
You’ll then create the finished short-form video.
I’m not expecting free work.
The purpose of the test is simply to see how you interpret the footage, pacing and overall content style before committing to ongoing work.
Payment
I’m open to discussing either:
* A rate per completed video, or
* A weekly/monthly arrangement once we’re working consistently.
The rate will depend on your experience, editing quality, turnaround time and the complexity of the video.
How to Apply
Please send me:
1. A short introduction about yourself.
2. Your experience editing short-form content.
3. 3 examples of your best short-form edits — please don’t send your entire portfolio.
4. Your usual price per 30–90 second short-form video.
5. Your typical turnaround time.
6. What editing software you use.
7. Your availability each week.
And finally, start your application with the word Infinite, so I know you’ve actually read the full job description.
I’m looking forward to finding someone I can build a long-term working relationship with.
