Read this whole post before applying. There's a specific instruction at the bottom and I only read applications that follow it.
We sell sauna heaters and sauna kits across the United States. Our customers are homeowners building a new sauna or looking to replace/upgrade their sauna heater, construction companies specifying equipment for a client, and professional sauna builders ordering for multiple projects. Orders range from a single heater to complete saunas well over $10,000.
They come to us because they need to figure out what to buy. What size heater for the room. Whether the specs work for the build. Which brands/models hold up. Your job is to be the person who works that out with them and gets the order.
This is a sales role with a real support component, not a ticket-closing job.
COMPENSATION
Base: $1,100 USD/month
Commission: 1% of every order you close. We sell complete sauna packages upwards of $10,000, so the bigger orders pay real money
Realistic total: $2,000–$3,500/month once you're ramped
THE HOURS
9:00 AM to 5:00 PM US Eastern Time.
WHAT YOU'LL ACTUALLY DO
This is a varied role. Some of it is live conversation, but a lot of it is quiet work: figuring out the right answer, building the quote, and chasing it down.
Sales:
- Take inbound sales calls and texts from homeowners, contractors and sauna builders
- Make outbound calls and texts to warm prospects who've enquired, requested a quote, or abandoned a cart
- Research the right solution for a customer's build and put together product recommendations based on their room, their timeline and their budget
- Create quotes in Shopify and send them out
- Follow up on open quotes. This is where most of the commission lives, and it's the part most people neglect
- Take orders over the phone
Support:
- Handle inbound chat and
- Answer technical questions about heater and sauna specifications
- Work through problems with customers, including liaising with vendors' technical teams to get a real answer rather than a guess
- Process returns and refunds
- Follow up with customers after their equipment arrives, to make sure the install went well and to catch problems early
- Realistically, you will not be on the phone all day. Expect a mix: sales and support calls, then long stretches of research, quoting, follow-up and
WHO THIS IS FOR
Required:
- Near-native spoken and written English. Clear and easy for an American to understand on a bad phone connection, and clean enough to write a quote
- Real sales experience. If you've sold anything expensive over the phone or by
- Comfortable with a customer who says "let me think about it," and willing to follow up until you get an answer
- Organised enough to keep 30 open quotes moving without dropping any
- 50+ WPM typing
- Reliable internet (10 Mbps+) and a quiet place to take calls
- You can commit to these hours for at least a year
Nice to have, genuinely not required:
- Shopify experience
- Anything to do with saunas, spas, pools, hot tubs, construction or home improvement
- Basic electrical literacy (volts, amps, breakers)
- You do not need to know anything about saunas. We'll teach you that, and we have the materials to do it properly. What we can't teach is how you sound on the phone and whether you chase a quote.
ABOUT US
We're a team of 20 running several ecommerce sites. It's a close, highly motivated group and everyone here cares about doing the work properly. You won't get lost in a corporate structure, and you won't be firefighting at midnight either. Steady work, taken seriously, by people who like working together.
On a team this size your work is visible from day one. If this goes well, you'd be training the next hires and eventually leading the team.
HOW TO APPLY
Three things. Applications missing any of them get skipped, no exceptions.
1. Start your message with the word SAUNA-READY so I know you read this far.
2. Record a video clip (not audio) covering two parts:
Part 1 - introduce yourself. How much sales experience you have, whether you've used Shopify, what industries you've worked in, and why we should hire you. Keep it tight.
Part 2 - answer this as if you were on the phone with a real customer:
"Hi, I'm building a sauna in my backyard. It's about 7 feet by 8 feet with a 7-foot ceiling, and one wall is going to be glass. I have no idea what size heater I need. Can you help?"
You are not expected to know the right answer. I'm listening to how you sound and what questions you ask. Upload the video anywhere and paste the link.
3. In two or three sentences, tell me about one time you sold something expensive to someone who wasn't sure. What did they say, and what did you say back?
I read every application that follows those three steps. If you're a fit, you'll hear from me within 3 business days.
