We are hiring an experienced Durable Medical Equipment (DME) Billing Specialist to support a growing U.S.-based healthcare organization.

Durable Medical Equipment includes medical equipment and supplies intended for ongoing patient use, such as wheelchairs, walkers, hospital beds, oxygen equipment, CPAP machines, and similar items.

The role will focus on DME insurance verification, documentation review, claim submission, denial resolution, payment posting, and accounts receivable follow-up.

Direct experience using TrueSight by Medbill is a major advantage and will receive priority consideration.

This is a long-term opportunity for an experienced DME billing professional who communicates clearly, takes ownership, solves problems, and follows every claim through payment or final resolution.

NON-NEGOTIABLE REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum 2 years of hands-on DME or HME billing experience

• Experience billing Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance carriers

• Strong understanding of the complete DME billing and revenue-cycle process

• Knowledge of HCPCS codes, ICD-10 codes, modifiers, payer requirements, medical necessity, and DME documentation

• Experience with eligibility verification, prior authorizations, claim submission, denials, appeals, payment posting, and AR follow-up

• Ability to review prescriptions, physician orders, supporting documentation, and proof of delivery

• Strong outbound calling skills and confidence speaking with U.S.-based insurance representatives

• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills

• Strong organization, accuracy, documentation, and follow-through

• Ability to work independently and take ownership of claims until payment or final resolution

HIGHLY PREFERRED

• Direct experience using TrueSight by Medbill

Candidates with hands-on TrueSight experience should clearly identify this in their application and describe how they used the platform.

IMPORTANT

This is not a general medical billing, bookkeeping, accounts payable, virtual assistant, or basic data-entry position.

Applicants must have direct experience billing for Durable Medical Equipment. Candidates without relevant DME or HME billing experience may not be considered.

We need someone who understands the specialized documentation, coding, payer requirements, and follow-up involved in DME billing. The right candidate must be comfortable contacting insurance companies, investigating unpaid or denied claims, making corrections, and following up consistently until payment is received.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Verify patient eligibility, insurance benefits, and DME coverage

• Obtain and track prior authorizations when required

• Review prescriptions, physician orders, medical-necessity documentation, and proof of delivery

• Confirm that all billing information and supporting documentation are complete

• Apply the correct HCPCS codes, ICD-10 codes, modifiers, units, and payer information

• Prepare, review, and submit accurate DME claims

• Manage recurring rental, resupply, and other DME-specific billing when applicable

• Monitor rejected, denied, delayed, and underpaid claims

• Correct and resubmit claims and prepare appeals when necessary

• Post and reconcile payments, ERAs, EOBs, adjustments, and patient balances

• Monitor AR aging and follow up on outstanding claims

• Contact insurance companies by phone, email, and payer portals

• Obtain claim status, reference numbers, expected payment dates, required corrections, and clear next steps

• Document all calls, claim updates, responses, and follow-up dates

• Provide clear reports regarding claims, denials, collections, and outstanding AR

• Follow every assigned claim through payment or final resolution
