Social Media & Content Specialist
Part-Time | 20 Hours per Week | Remote
We are looking for a creative, organized, and digitally confident Social Media & Content Specialist to support the marketing of a growing Canadian marketing business. You will work directly with the Founder, who will provide the overall marketing strategy, direction, ideas, written content, and raw materials. Your role will be to turn those ideas into polished, professional content across LinkedIn, Instagram,
What You'll Do
• Create and schedule content for LinkedIn, Instagram, and
• Design branded graphics, carousels, educational posts, Reel covers, and Stories in Canva
• Adapt content for different platforms and audiences
• Format captions and add relevant calls to action, links, tags, keywords, and hashtags
• Maintain an organized social media content calendar
• Monitor comments, mentions, and messages and flag important enquiries
• Prepare content for the Founder’s LinkedIn profile and company page
• Turn articles, videos, presentations, and ideas into LinkedIn posts and newsletters
• Edit raw video footage into YouTube videos, Shorts, Instagram Reels, and LinkedIn clips
• Add captions, titles, simple transitions, branding, and thumbnails
• Repurpose long-form content into multiple short-form content pieces
• Format and schedule
• Upload and format blog content in WordPress
• Complete website content updates
• Help optimize content using SEO principles
• Organize content files, Canva templates, graphics, photos, and video footage
• Track marketing performance and prepare simple monthly summaries
Content Repurposing
A major part of this role will be helping us get more value from every piece of content.
You may take one core idea and turn it into:
• A LinkedIn post
• An Instagram carousel
• A
• A short-form video
• A YouTube video
• An
• A website article
You should be comfortable taking direction and finding efficient ways to turn existing ideas into polished, platform-ready marketing materials.
What We're Looking For
• Strong written English, grammar, and proofreading skills
• Strong Canva skills and a good eye for clean, professional design
• Experience with LinkedIn, Instagram,
• Experience editing both short-form and long-form video
• Experience using Adobe Premiere Pro
• Strong attention to detail and visual consistency
• Excellent organization and time-management skills
• Comfortable learning new software and digital marketing tools
• Able to follow brand guidelines and established processes
• Able to work independently and meet deadlines
• Open to feedback and comfortable revising work
• Reliable, proactive, and professional
Experience with any of the following is helpful, but you do not need to know everything:
• Canva
• Mailchimp or another
• WordPress
• LinkedIn newsletters
• Social media scheduling tools
• YouTube Studio
• Google Analytics
• Google Search Console
• Google Business Profile
• SEO and keyword research
• Video editing and captioning software
• Content or project management systems
Training will be provided on specific processes where required.
