Accountant
Position Summary
A fast-growing U.S. solar company is seeking a detail-oriented, analytical, and highly organized Accountant to join our Finance team. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment and takes pride in producing accurate financial information.
This role is responsible for maintaining accurate accounting records in QuickBooks, processing vendor invoices and bills, communicating with lenders regarding funding and payment activity, and developing financial and operational dashboards using data from our CRM system. The successful candidate will possess strong accounting knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to identify opportunities to improve processes and reporting.

Primary Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Accurately review, code, and enter vendor invoices, bills, and other accounting transactions into QuickBooks.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close procedures, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Communicate with financing partners and lenders regarding funding requests, payment status, outstanding stipulations, and account reconciliations.
• Monitor lender funding activity and assist with resolving funding discrepancies.
• Extract and analyze data from the company's CRM system to develop financial and operational dashboards for management.
• Prepare recurring KPI reports and ad hoc financial analyses to support executive decision-making.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting, and internal controls.

Operating Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
• Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from a four-year college or university, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of 2+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience preferred.
• Advanced proficiency with QuickBooks Online or QuickBooks Desktop.
• Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Experience reviewing and processing vendor invoices and accounts payable.
• Experience preparing reconciliations and journal entries.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Experience working with CRM systems and exporting data for reporting and analysis.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, and basic data analysis.
• Experience building dashboards and KPI reports is strongly preferred.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
• High ethical standards with the ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information.
• Self-motivated, dependable, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong team player with a positive attitude and commitment to continuous improvement.
