Video Editor & Content Creator (Part-Time)
About the Company:
We're a U.S.-based internet company running a growing portfolio of online competitions and grant programs that celebrate creativity, talent, and community. Our verticals span photography, pets, adventure, and more — each with active communities, monthly cash prizes, and a grant-giving program that supports meaningful causes. We're a small, mission-driven team that moves fast and takes pride in the experience we deliver to our participants.
The Role:
We're looking for a creative, detail-oriented Video Editor & Content Creator to turn raw footage, text, and images into polished, on-brand social media content across our competition brands and our grant program. You'll work from established style guides and prior examples, so strong editing instincts and consistency matter more than building something from scratch. This is a remote role centered on video editing, with copywriting and content-sourcing responsibilities included from the start.
Primary Responsibilities:
Winner & Grant Awardee Interview Videos:
Edit raw interview footage from competition winners and grant awardees into finished long-form videos for social media
Edit out the interviewer so the final video features only the subject
Insert text slides presenting each question before the corresponding answer
Add music and follow established style guides and prior examples for long-style interview videos
Work across several competition verticals as well as the separate grant program, adapting to each brand's style
Short-Form Reels:
Take raw video footage and cut it into shorter, engaging reels for social media
Build mash-up style videos combining clips from multiple winners around a shared theme (e.g., a “what it's like to win” compilation)
Write the accompanying social media post copy for these reels, following prior examples and established voice
Static & Carousel Social Media Posts:
Create static (single-image) and carousel-style posts using Q&A content from winners
Incorporate additional photos and media winners have provided
Follow established style guides and prior examples for layout, format, and voice
Top 20 Countdown Video:
Pull entrant content from the competition website to build a Top 20 countdown video for one competition
Edit the countdown from 20th to 1st place with music, following the established format and style
What We're Looking For:
Previous experience editing video for social media (reels, short-form, and longer-form content)
An eye for pacing, music selection, and on-brand visual style
Strong written communication skills — able to write social copy that matches an established voice from examples
Detail-oriented — accurate captions/slides, correct sequencing, and adherence to style guides matter
Reliable and self-directed, comfortable managing multiple projects across different brands
Comfortable navigating web-based tools and switching between platforms and accounts
This Role Could Grow to Include:
Scheduling the finished social media posts
Finding fun, engaging, related content to share on our social media pages
Tools You'll Use:
A video editing tool of your choice — CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or similar, whichever you're comfortable working in
Slack — for team communication
Training, style guides, and prior video and copy examples will be provided.
Details:
Location: Remote
Type: Part-time
Schedule: 10–20 hours/week, flexible schedule — volume varies with available footage and campaigns
To Apply:
Please include in your application:
A brief description of your video editing experience, including examples of past work (a portfolio or reel link is welcome)
Which video editing software you use, and whether you own a license, pay for a monthly subscription, or would need access provided
Your experience writing social media copy, if any
We're a small team that values reliability, thoughtfulness, and people who genuinely care about getting the details right. If that sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you.
