JOB OVERVIEW

YOUTUBE VIDEO EDITOR + THUMBNAIL DESIGNER

We’re looking for a high-level YouTube Video Editor who can also create high-converting thumbnails.

This is a long-term role for someone who understands that great YouTube content is about more than making footage look good.

You need to understand retention, storytelling, pacing, packaging, titles/thumbnails, and what makes people click and keep watching.

WHAT YOU’LL BE WORKING ON

Content primarily around:

Entrepreneurship
Ecommerce
Marketing
Business
Behind-the-scenes content
Documentary / lifestyle content
Educational and entertainment-focused YouTube videos

Most videos will be approximately 8–25 minutes long.

You’ll be responsible for both:

1. YOUTUBE VIDEO EDITING

Turn raw footage into polished long-form YouTube videos
Create strong hooks and first 30–60 seconds
Cut unnecessary sections and tighten pacing
Add B-roll strategically
Add clean text and motion graphics
Sound design and music
Pattern interrupts
Zooms, cuts and visual changes that improve retention
Find supporting footage/images when necessary
Understand storytelling instead of simply following a timeline
Match reference videos and editing styles

2. YOUTUBE THUMBNAILS

Create scroll-stopping YouTube thumbnails
Understand CTR and thumbnail psychology
Create clear visual hierarchy
Strong subject/background separation
Clean photo manipulation
Facial/object enhancement when needed
Understand curiosity without making thumbnails look cheap or overly clickbait
Take inspiration from winning thumbnails while creating something original
Create multiple thumbnail concepts for testing when needed

REQUIREMENTS
Strong long-form YouTube editing portfolio
Strong YouTube thumbnail portfolio
Excellent English comprehension
Reliable communication
Fast turnaround times
Ability to follow references closely
Ability to take feedback and revise quickly
Consistent quality across multiple videos

Experience with:

Premiere Pro / DaVinci Resolve / Final Cut
After Effects
Photoshop
