Part-Time Meta Ads Manager / Media Buyer — Local Lead Gen (Long-Term Role)
Company: Salt and Light Photography Company (Canada) Type: Part-time, ongoing, long-term Rate: Up to $500 USD/month to start (~10–15 hrs/week), with increases tied to performance Hours: Flexible — you set your schedule, but you must be reachable during some overlap with Pacific Time (Vancouver, Canada) and responsive within 24 hours on weekdays.
About Us
Salt and Light Photography Company is a family-run photography studio in British Columbia, Canada. We've been in business for 10 years and have spent the last year scaling seriously — building a small team of associate photographers, systemizing operations, and turning on paid advertising.
We're currently spending $3,000–$5,000 CAD/month on Meta ads to generate local booking inquiries. The account works, but it's being run by the owner between shoots and client work. We want a specialist who owns it properly.
This is not a "set up some ads and disappear" gig. We are looking for one person to run this account as their own for years to come.
What You'll Own
Full day-to-day management of our Meta Ads account
Campaign structure, audience testing, budget allocation, and scaling decisions
Writing and iterating ad copy; directing creative (we produce the photo/video assets — you tell us what you need and why)
Creative testing cadence: knowing when an ad is fatigued and what to swap in
Pixel / Conversions API health, event tracking, and making sure lead data is actually reporting correctly
Weekly reporting — a short, plain-English summary of what happened, what you changed, and what you're testing next
Flagging when spend should go up on a winner and when it should be cut
Who We're Looking For
Required:
5–10 years of hands-on experience inside Meta Ads Manager. Not agency-adjacent, not "I managed the team that ran ads" — you personally built, launched, and optimized the campaigns.
Real experience with local, service-based lead generation (home services, med spas, real estate, dental, photography, events, etc.). This is a booking-inquiry business with a defined geographic radius — not e-commerce. If your entire portfolio is dropshipping and DTC ROAS, this likely isn't a fit.
Comfortable managing accounts in the $3K–$10K/month spend range and treating that budget like it's your own money.
Solid written English. You'll be writing ad copy aimed at North American consumers, and communicating directly with the owner.
You can explain your reasoning. We'd rather hear "I'm cutting this ad set because frequency hit 3.2 and CPL doubled" than "I optimized the campaigns."
Nice to have (mention if you have it):
Experience with GoHighLevel or similar CRMs, and offline/CRM conversion tracking back into Meta
Landing page or funnel experience (Leadpages, Lovable, GHL funnels)
Experience marketing to a female-majority audience (weddings, families, branding sessions)
Basic Canva or video editing to cut existing assets into new ad variations
Not a fit if:
You're juggling 15 clients and this would be account #16
You need step-by-step direction to know what to do next
You outsource the actual work to someone else
Compensation & Growth
Starting at up to $500 USD/month for roughly 10–15 hours per week, paid monthly via Wise or your preferred method.
To be straight with you: we know that rate buys us a part-time slice of a good buyer, not a full-time senior one. So the deal is simple — if you drive our cost per booked inquiry down and we scale spend, your rate goes up with it. We'd rather find one strong person, pay them more over time, and never have to look again.
Hiring Process
You apply (instructions below)
Short paid trial: 1–2 hours working directly with the owner — we'll walk you through the live account and you'll give us your honest read on what you'd change and why. This trial is paid regardless of whether we move forward.
If it's a fit: we onboard you and hand over the account. Long-term, ongoing relationship.
How To Apply
Please follow these instructions exactly — applications that skip steps will not be reviewed.
1. Start your message with the word AURORA so we know you read the full post.
2. Answer these four questions briefly:
How many years have you personally spent inside Meta Ads Manager, and what's the largest monthly budget you've managed?
Describe one local lead-generation account you've run. What was the offer, the monthly spend, and the cost per lead when you took it over versus when you handed it off (or today)?
What's the first thing you look at when you're handed an underperforming ad account, and why that first?
How many client accounts are you currently managing?
3. Include one screenshot from Ads Manager of a local lead-gen campaign you've run — cost per result and spend visible. Blur the client name if you need to.
4. Optional but strongly encouraged — send a Loom video (2–4 minutes). Introduce yourself, tell us how you'd approach an account like ours, and let us hear how you communicate. Applicants who include a Loom go to the top of the pile. We're hiring for a long-term working relationship, and seeing how you think out loud tells us more than a résumé does.
We read every application that follows the instructions, and we'll respond to shortlisted candidates within one week.
Looking forward to meeting you.
