About the Company
Bookzyr is a booking platform built for barbershops across Australia and New Zealand. We are backed by an operating group that already runs an award-winning barbershop and barbering academy, so we design with direct access to the customers we serve. The product has a working MVP and is moving through a phased launch toward public release.
The Role
We are looking for one senior UX/UI designer to own the product design surface end to end. This is not a template-assembly role. The product currently carries more functionality than most users need, and a central part of your brief will be simplifying it — d
You will work directly with the founder.
Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end product design: user flows, wireframes, high-fidelity UI, and prototypes
- Audit the existing MVP and propose a simplified, engagement-led information architecture
- Design responsive interfaces for both the barbershop-facing dashboard and the client-facing booking experience
- Build and maintain a scalable design system and component library in Figma
- Prepare developer-ready specifications and collaborate through implementation
- Contribute to marketing and sales collateral where required (landing pages, decks, in-app assets)
Requirements
- 5+ years in UX/UI design, with at least 2 years on SaaS or web application products
- A portfolio demonstrating shipped software products — not agency mockups or concept work
- Expert-level Figma, including auto-layout, variables, and design system architecture
- Demonstrated ability to simplify complex products and justify design decisions with reasoning
- Strong written English and self-directed working habits
Available for a minimum of four hours of overlap with Melbourne, Australia business hours (AEST)
