JOB OVERVIEW

We are hiring a part-time Video Editor to join our content team. You do not need to manage everything, just deliver high-retention, clean edits using raw footage of car culture, POV photography, and rolling shoots.

Our target audience is primarily English, but most of our raw footage is in Japanese. We need an editor who can comfortably work with Japanese audio, generate auto-captions, and make basic corrections/edits to text so it makes sense in English/Japanese. You do not need to be 100% fluent in Japanese, as long as you can work with Japanese audio and clean up auto-captions accurately.

We do not want over-edited graphics or flashy transition packs. We want simple, fast-paced, high-engagement cuts with clean captions and strong visual hooks.

Key Responsibilities:

Edit raw POV car footage into short, punchy Instagram Reels (delivering a few videos per day).

Structure the first 1-3 seconds to create a strong visual hook.

Use CapCut (or similar) to generate auto-captions, correct basic language errors, and keep text clean and readable.

Execute tight, precise cuts to maintain high viewer retention.

Requirements:

Proficient in CapCut and basic video editing tools.

Bilingual Capability (English and Japanese): Comfortable handling Japanese footage/audio and correcting auto-captions for an English/Japanese audience (fluency is not strictly required, but functional capability is a must).

Proven experience editing short-form content (Reels / TikToks / Shorts).

Strong understanding of retention, pacing, and visual hooks.

An interest in cars, photography, or POV-style videos is a big plus.

Compensation and Hiring Process:

Type: Part-Time (Paid Hourly).
