Part Time
$4/hour

We are hiring a part-time Customer Service Operator for a DTC ecommerce brand.
This role is for someone who already uses AI as part of their real work, not someone who only pastes one basic prompt into ChatGPT and copies the answer.
We use an AI-assisted customer support workflow plus Commslayer / Re:amaze. We will train you on our tools and process, but we need someone who is already strong at using AI to think, check, rewrite, summarize, organize, and improve support work.
You will review AI-drafted customer support replies before they are sent. Your job is to catch wrong AI answers, check customer/order/subscription details, rewrite replies in a human way, spot refund or chargeback risk, and escalate issues before they become bigger problems.
WORK SETUP
- Paid part-time trial to start
- 4 hours per day
- Starting rate: $4/hour
- Stable work if the trial goes well
- Possible increase in hours later based on volume, speed, quality, and reliability
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Review AI-generated customer support drafts
- Rewrite replies so they sound clear, direct, and human
- Check order, billing, subscription, and customer context before replying
- Handle issues like refunds, cancellations, tracking, damaged items, wrong items, disputes, and angry customers
- Use AI to summarize long threads, draft replies, improve macros, organize patterns, and speed up work
- Catch AI mistakes before they reach customers
- Flag repeat issues, unclear policies, and risky tickets to the team
- Work inside Commslayer / Re:amaze after training
REQUIREMENTS
- Strong written English
- Uses AI every day for real tasks
- Can show how you use AI, not just say you use it
- Can think clearly when facts change
- Can catch hallucinations, bad assumptions, and weak AI replies
- Comfortable with ecommerce customer issues
- Fast without being sloppy
- Proactive when information is missing
- Reliable internet and computer setup
- Available for 4 hours per day
Experience with Shopify, Re:amaze, Gorgias, Zendesk, Freshdesk, subscriptions, payment disputes, or DTC brands is a plus.
YOU ARE PROBABLY NOT A FIT IF
- You only use AI to fix grammar
- You need someone to give you perfect prompts before you can use AI
- You copy AI answers without checking facts
- You cannot explain why you changed an AI draft
- You give long generic answers instead of clear decisions
- You do not like customer support work
IMPORTANT
You may use AI to apply. We expect that.
But we are judging how you use it.
We want to see your workflow, judgment, and editing. A polished AI answer with weak thinking will not pass.
HOW TO APPLY
Do not send a generic cover letter.
Use this exact subject line:
AI-CS | [Your First Name] | [Main AI Tool You Use] | [Number of minutes spent]
Reply with the following:
1. Confirm that $4/hour for 4 hours per day works for you.
2. In 5 bullets or less, describe how you used AI in the last 7 days for real work. Be specific. Name the tool and what you did with it.
Example of a weak answer:
"I use ChatGPT to help me write better emails."
Example of a stronger answer:
"I uploaded a long customer thread into Claude, asked it to extract the timeline, checked the order details myself, then used it to draft 3 reply options and rewrote the final one."
3. List 3 AI workflows or features you use beyond basic chat prompts.
Examples:
- Uploading files/screenshots and asking AI to analyze them
- Creating reusable reply frameworks or macros
- Comparing two drafts and asking AI to find risk
- Summarizing long customer threads into timelines
- Turning messy notes into SOPs
- Using projects, custom instructions, saved context, or structured templates
- Using AI with spreadsheets, CSVs, support exports, or reports
- Using automations, API tools, Zapier/Make, or similar
4. Practical task:
Customer message:
"I cancelled two weeks ago but you charged me again today. I already emailed support and nobody replied. If this is not refunded today, I am filing a dispute."
Account facts:
- Subscription status still shows active
- Billing history shows a charge today
- Customer emailed 10 days ago asking how to cancel
- No support agent replied to that email
- You do not yet know if the customer clicked the cancellation button
Bad AI draft:
"Hi, your subscription was still active, so the charge is valid. Please cancel your subscription from your account page to avoid future charges."
Answer:
- What are the biggest problems with the AI draft?
- What would you check before replying?
- Write the reply you would send.
- What would you tell the manager if you saw 15 tickets like this today?
5. AI workflow proof:
Show how you used AI to answer the practical task above.
Send either:
- A short Loom/video link showing your AI workflow, or
- Screenshots of your AI conversation, or
- The exact prompts you used and how you changed the final answer.
Do not include private client/customer information.
6. Send 2 time windows when you are available for a live practical interview.
The live interview will include one section where you answer without AI and one section where you are allowed to use AI while sharing your workflow.
Applications that do not follow the format will not be considered.
