We're looking for a detail-oriented freelance/contract photo editor to prepare product photos for both digital use and print, following a consistent editing and file-delivery workflow.
Responsibilities
1. Upscale Photos (as needed)
Review all incoming photos for resolution/quality.
Upscale any low-resolution images using Pixelcut (or a comparable AI upscaling tool).
2. Crop to Standard Sizes
Crop each photo to our set of standard offered sizes.
Sizes will include both square and rectangular formats:
Rectangle: 16x20 in, 18x24 in, 24x36 in, 30x40 in, 36x48 in, 48x60 in
Square: 12x12 in, 18x18 in, 24x24 in, 30x30 in, 36x36 in, 40x40 in
3. Prepare Background Versions
For each cropped size, cut out ("snap") the subject and place it on:
A transparent background, and
A solid
#F6F6F6 background
4. Composite onto Frames
Photoshop each image onto our branded frames.
Frame finishes:
Rectangle (Framed Canvas): Black, White, Ash, Walnut
Square: Oak, Black, Walnut Float Frame
Match each frame finish/size combination to the correct corresponding image size.
5. Close-Up Detail Crops
Create close-up crops of 2 different areas within each art piece to highlight detail/texture.
6. In-Home Mockups
Create in-home mockups for each piece, including:
Photo-realistic mockups (art placed in a real room photo)
To-scale art mockups (art shown accurately sized within a room setting)
7. Build "For Print" Deliverables
Create a separate "For Print" folder containing, for each image:
The edited image cropped to the corresponding print size, saved at 300 ppi (minimum 130–150 ppi)
One version with the wrap script applied (via Canva)
One version without the wrap script (for standard paper prints)
8. File Delivery
Organize all final files by folder/size/version.
Upload completed files to Dropbox.

Elements in order, separated by underscores
Size Limitations
59.5" max working image width for paper and canvas
40x60 in is the max size for ChromaPrints
Requirements
Proficiency in Photoshop
Experience with Canva
Familiarity with AI upscaling tools (e.g., Pixelcut)
Experience creating photo-realistic and to-scale in-home/room mockups
Strong attention to detail with sizing, DPI, and file organization
Comfortable managing a repeatable, multi-step editing workflow across batches of images
