About the Role
We are an indie game developer looking for a detail-oriented, passionate PC gamer to join our project as a Game QA Tester & Playtester. You will test early game builds, execute structured playtesting passes, identify gameplay/UI bugs, and provide actionable feedback on balancing, game feel, and overall player experience.
This role requires a tester who can systematically break down mechanics, notice subtle balance issues, and document findings clearly rather than just playing casually.
Key Responsibilities
Bug Identification & Reporting: Discover, reproduce, and document bugs with clear, step-by-step reproduction instructions, expected vs. actual behavior, screenshots, and video captures.
Structured Testing: Test specific game systems, combat logic, UI flows, and edge-case scenarios as outlined in assigned test passes.
Gameplay & Balance Feedback: Provide thoughtful, objective feedback on difficulty balance, game flow, clarity of mechanics, and user experience.
Regression Testing: Verify that reported bugs have been fixed in subsequent game builds without introducing new issues.
Requirements
Godot Game Engine Experience.
PC Hardware: A reliable desktop or laptop PC capable of smoothly running modern 2D/3D indie games.
Internet Connection: Stable, high-speed internet connection for downloading new game builds and uploading video recordings/logs.
Recording & Logging Tools: Familiarity with screen recording software (OBS, Medal, GeForce Experience)
Communication: Excellent written English skills to explain complex bug triggers and logical edge cases clearly.
Gaming background: Strong interest in indie games, turn-based strategies, RPGs, or tactical games is a huge plus.
