We are seeking an experienced Virtual Medical Assistant to provide remote administrative and patient-care support for a fast-paced telehealth environment.
This role requires someone who is confident speaking with patients, experienced with healthcare workflows, comfortable documenting in electronic health records, and able to work independently while maintaining accuracy, professionalism, and patient confidentiality.
This is not a general virtual assistant position. Previous healthcare or medical assistant experience is strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
The Virtual Medical Assistant will assist with responsibilities including:
Making outbound calls to patients
Conducting patient intake and information-gathering calls
Following established intake scripts and workflows
Scheduling, rescheduling, and coordinating patient appointments
Conducting patient follow-up outreach
Documenting patient interactions accurately in the EHR
Updating patient demographics, medical information, and records
Assisting with monthly notes and routine medical documentation
Reviewing and organizing patient tasks
Monitoring incoming patient messages
Triaging messages according to established protocols
Routing clinical concerns to the appropriate care tea
Communicating non-clinical information back to patients when appropriate
Assisting with medical records and documentation requests
Entering and processing orders as directed
Supporting telehealth workflows
Ensuring documentation and patient follow-ups are completed promptly
Providing administrative support to physicians, medical assistants, and other care tea
Maintaining patient confidentiality and following HIPAA requirements
Completing additional administrative or patient-support tasks as assigned
REQUIRED Qualifications

Previous experience as a Medical Assistant, Virtual Medical Assistant, healthcare assistant, or healthcare administrative professional
Experience working remotely
Experience making outbound patient calls
Strong customer service experience
Excellent spoken and written English
Must be comfortable speaking with patients throughout the workday
Strong medical terminology knowledge
Experience documenting patient interactions
Experience using an EHR/EMR system
Strong computer and data-entry skills
Excellent attention to detail
Ability to follow detailed workflows and written instructions
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Ability to work independently without constant supervision
Ability to manage multiple patient tasks and priorities
Professional, compassionate, and patient when interacting with patients
Understanding of patient confidentiality and HIPAA
Reliable computer
Reliable high-speed internet
Quiet and professional workspace
Reliable headset for patient calls
Must be available to start immediately
Must provide at least TWO professional references from previous employers or supervisors

Accuracy is extremely important in this role. Medical documentation, patient communications, and task completion must be handled carefully and consistently.
English Communication Requirement
Because this position requires frequent telephone communication with patients in the United States, applicants must be able to speak English clearly, fluently, naturally, and professionally.
Applicants must also demonstrate strong written English, including grammar, reading comprehension, and the ability to document patient interactions accurately.
Selected candidates may be asked to complete a voice or video interview to assess communication skills.
