JOB OVERVIEW

# Content Operations Manager: Six Local Publications

**$1,600-$2,000/month | Full-time | Remote | Long-term**

## About us

We operate six local news publications and matching Instagram accounts across Georgia and Florida.

We cover local news, business openings, events, development, and useful information for people who live in each community. Local businesses also partner with us to reach those readers.

We are hiring one person to take ownership of our recurring publishing and content operations.

## What you will handle

### Instagram

You will produce one carousel post for each of our six accounts every weekday.

For each post, you will:

* Find a relevant local story
* Verify the information using reliable sources
* Write the headline and body copy using our existing format
* Build the slides from our Canva templates
* Schedule or publish the finished post
* Save the source links used

### Newsletters

We publish eight editions per week.

Five editions arrive already drafted. You will move them into Beehiiv, format each section, check every link, add the thumbnail image, and schedule the send.

Three Athens editions require more editorial work. You will select local stories, write short summaries, and build the events calendar using our existing process.

### Partner operations

You will:

* Request photos and materials from local business partners
* Follow up when something is late
* Format approved advertisements inside Beehiiv
* Keep the publishing schedule and partner database updated in Notion
* Make sure no scheduled placement is forgotten

You will not be responsible for sales or account strategy.

### Administrative support

Approximately 20% of the role will include defined recurring tasks such as email triage, calendar scheduling, and research.

## What success looks like

* Newsletters and Instagram posts go out on schedule
* Facts, names, dates, links, and locations are correct
* The writing can be published without being rewritten
* Partner materials are collected before their deadlines
* Notion reflects what is actually scheduled
* Problems are raised early, before they become missed deadlines

## Requirements

* At least two years of remote experience in content, publishing, operations, or executive assistance
* Exceptional written English
* Strong attention to detail
* Experience managing recurring deadlines without constant reminders
* Able to learn from written procedures, examples, and recorded training
* Comfortable using AI tools while personally verifying every fact and link
* Reliable computer, internet connection, and backup internet
* Available for at least four working hours between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. US Eastern time each weekday

Experience with Beehiiv, Notion, Slack, Canva, and Google Workspace is helpful but not required.

## Role details

* Approximately 40 hours per week
* Monday through Friday
* $1,600-$2,000 per month, based on demonstrated ability
* Long-term position with room to take on more responsibility
* We are hiring one person directly. No agencies.
