JOB OVERVIEW

Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced Amazon Paid Media Strategist to oversee the strategy, performance, and optimization of paid media across our Amazon portfolio.

This role will serve as the internal expert on Amazon advertising performance, ensuring that our media investment is driving profitable, sustainable growth. The Paid Media Strategist will monitor campaign performance, identify opportunities and inefficiencies, provide actionable recommendations, and help determine where we should scale, optimize, test, or reduce investment.

This person will work closely with our Marketplace Analyst on data and performance analytics and our Category Brand Manager on organic strategy, ensuring that paid media, organic visibility, content, pricing, promotions, and overall brand strategy are working together.

The ideal candidate is highly analytical but also understands the bigger picture of growing brands on Amazon.

Paid Media Strategy & Optimization

· Oversee Amazon paid media strategy across multiple brands and product categories.

· Monitor Sponsored Products, Sponsored Brands, Sponsored Display, and other Amazon advertising initiatives.

· Analyze campaign performance and identify opportunities to improve ROAS, ACOS, TACOS, conversion, traffic, and overall profitability.

· Recommend where advertising investment should be increased, reduced, reallocated, or tested.

· Evaluate campaign structure, targeting, bidding, keyword strategy, budgets, placements, and search term performance.

· Identify wasted spend and opportunities to improve advertising efficiency.

· Help establish advertising goals and budgets by brand based on growth objectives, profitability, inventory, and opportunity.

Performance Analysis & Reporting

· Work closely with the Marketplace Analyst to analyze advertising performance alongside sales, traffic, conversion, organic ranking, profitability, and competitive trends.

· Develop clear reporting and recommendations that explain not only what happened, but why performance changed and what actions should be taken.

· Identify trends and opportunities at the brand, category, campaign, keyword, and ASIN level.

· Establish benchmarks and KPIs to measure advertising effectiveness.

· HPaid + Organic Collaboration

· Partner closely with Category Brand Managers to connect paid media strategy with organic Amazon strategy.

· Evaluate how content, SEO, pricing, promotions, reviews, inventory, and organic ranking are impacting advertising performance.

· Identify opportunities where paid media can support organic keyword growth and overall discoverability.

· Collaborate on new product launches and brand growth strategies.

· Ensure paid and organic strategies complement one another rather than functioning in silos.

Agency Management & Accountability

· Serve as an internal strategic counterpart to external advertising agencies and technology partners.

· Review agency recommendations and challenge strategies when performance or data does not support them.

· Ensure agencies are delivering against agreed-upon KPIs and business objectives.

· Provide internal analysis so the company maintains ownership of advertising strategy and decision-making.

· Identify areas where agency strategies should be adjusted, expanded, or reduced.

· Help ensure advertising partners are proactively bringing forward opportunities rather than simply managing existing campaigns.

Qualifications

· 3+ years of hands-on experience managing or overseeing Amazon advertising.

· Experience managing advertising across multiple brands and/or a large Amazon catalog strongly preferred.

· Advanced analytical skills with the ability to turn large amounts of data into clear recommendations.

· Strong understanding of ACOS, TACOS, ROAS, CTR, CVR, CPC, profitability, and other Amazon performance metrics.

· Understanding of the relationship between paid advertising, organic ranking, SEO, content, pricing, promotions, and conversion.

· Experience working with Amazon advertising platforms, agencies, or third-party advertising technology.

· Ability to communicate findings and recommendations clearly to both analytical and non-analytical stakeholders.

· Strong English communication skills.

What We're Looking For

We are looking for someone who is naturally curious and analytical and who isn't satisfied with simply reporting numbers.

This person should be comfortable asking:

Why did performance change? Where are we overspending? Where should we be investing more? Are paid campaigns actually creating incremental growth? How is paid media impacting organic performance? What should we change next?

The right candidate will be comfortable challenging assumptions, digging into the data, and making recommendations that improve both advertising efficiency and overall Amazon growth.
