Hey there!
My name is Kayla, and I’m a wedding photographer based in Alberta, Canada. I’m looking for a highly detail-oriented retouch and quality control editor to become a long-term part of my team.
This is not a colour grading role. My wedding galleries are already fully edited in Lightroom and exported as JPEGs. Your job is to perform the final retouching and quality control process before the gallery is delivered to my clients.
I currently have 18 weddings that need retouching and quality control between August and December, along with portrait sessions throughout the year. This is the work I have guaranteed right now, and as I book additional weddings and sessions, they will be added to a task board right away so you can see upcoming work well in advance.
As a heads up, I already have an editor who completes the Lightroom editing and most spot removals. You would receive JPEG files that are already largely finished, and your role would be to polish the gallery and catch the details that make it feel completely finished and ready for delivery.
Your Responsibilities - For each completed wedding gallery, you will:
- Review the full exported JPEG gallery
- Select images that require Evoto retouching, including:
- Flyaway hair removal
- Double chin reduction
- Minor skin cleanup when needed
- Run Evoto and export the corrected JPEGs
- Perform manual Photoshop retouching where necessary, including:
- Removing lint, dust, fuzz, bugs, and debris from suits, dresses, veils, and other clothing
- Removing stray hairs
- Cleaning up temporary blemishes
- Removing small distracting objects or imperfections
- Perform face swaps when a better expression or open eyes are available from another frame
- Do a final pass through the gallery to identify images that would benefit from additional sharpening
- Ensure the final gallery is polished, consistent, and ready for client delivery
- Attention to detail is extremely important. Many of my weddings require significant cleanup of lint, dust, and bugs on clothing, so I’m looking for someone who naturally notices small imperfections without needing detailed instructions on every gallery.
Requirements:
- Experience editing wedding photography
- Strong Photoshop skills
- Experience with Evoto (preferred, but I can train the right person)
- Excellent attention to detail
- Reliable communication and the ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to work independently after training
Compensation: CAD $0.03 per image reviewed
Examples:
600-image gallery = CAD $18
800-image gallery = CAD $24
900-image gallery = CAD $27
1,000-image gallery = CAD $30
1,200-image gallery = CAD $36
What I’m NOT Looking For:
- Someone who is disorganized or struggles with deadlines and structure
- Someone who has difficulty receiving honest feedback and improving quickly from it
- Someone who requires constant supervision
What I’m Looking For:
- Reliable, organized, and consistently on time
- Strong attention to detail
- A quick learner who can follow instructions and maintain consistency
- Strong in English
- Someone who takes ownership of their work and communicates proactively
- Someone who genuinely enjoys retouching wedding and couples photos full of emotion and beautiful
- Ideally, someone who can support a 3-4 day turnaround for wedding galleries and a 1-2 day turnaround for portrait sessions
