How You Will Contribute:

• Review and analyze real estate loan applications, ensuring all required documents are complete, accurate, and ready for evaluation and closing.
• Assess borrower financials, including bank statements, tax returns, and credit reports, to evaluate repayment capacity and overall financial risk.
• Analyze property values, appraisals, market data, and comparable properties to determine loan suitability and ensure accurate loan-to-value (LTV) ratios.
• Evaluate loan risks and make informed decisions to approve, deny, or conditionally approve applications based on established lending criteria and guidelines.
• Collaborate with leadership and real estate professionals to structure deals that align with company goals while maintaining profitability and minimizing risk.
• Work closely with internal teams (sales, processing, and closing) to ensure a smooth loan process and timely completion of requirements.
• Prepare clear and comprehensive underwriting reports summarizing risk assessments, property evaluations, and final loan recommendations.

What We're Looking For:

• Proven experience as an Underwriter in the real estate sector, with knowledge of residential, commercial, and investment property financing.
• Strong understanding of real estate market trends, property valuations, LTV ratios, borrower credit analysis, and financial statement review.
• Experience in structuring and evaluating various real estate loans, including residential mortgages, commercial loans, and investment property financing.
• Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain underwriting decisions and recommendations.
• Self-motivated, organized, and capable of working independently in a remote environment.
• Familiarity with loan origination software, digital communication tools, and regulatory requirements related to real estate lending.
