START YOUR APPLICATION WITH THE WORDS "LET'S CLOSE" OR IT WILL BE DELETED WITHOUT READING.
Let me tell you who I'm looking for, and be honest with yourself about whether this is you.
Somewhere out there is a closer who's already sold lead-gen or appointment-setting packages to contractors - roofers, HVAC guys, solar installers, plumbers - and made someone else rich doing it. They know the pricing, they know the objections, they know exactly how a cheap lead turns into a profitable deal for everyone. But they're capped. Same split every deal, no say in how the offer's built, no path past "closer #4 on the team."
If your heart rate just went up: hi. I built this for you.
WHAT THIS IS
I run a lead generation company and I'm building a commission-only sales team from scratch to sell directly to US contractors, any home-services vertical. There's no locked pricing model or commission structure yet - on purpose. I want the first person in to help build it, based on what's actually worked for them, not on a number I made up.
And here's the real offer - the part no ordinary closer job gives you:
If you're good, you're not staying a solo rep. You're the first hire in a sales org I'm building. That means real input into pricing, the sales script, which verticals we prioritize - and eventually, if you want it, training and running the next reps who join under you.
WHAT I EXPECT IN RETURN
Full honesty: I expect a lot.
- You've personally closed contractor clients on lead-gen or appointment-setting deals and can show me real numbers - vertical, deal size, what you earned. Not "helped close." Closed.
- You've worked 100% commission-only before and know how that changes how you operate day to day.
- You understand the actual economics - why a $15-30 lead cost doesn't mean a cheap sale, and how to price so the contractor, the deal, and your commission all make sense at once.
- You have a real sales process, not a vibe - prospecting, qualifying, objection handling, closing, follow-up.
- You figure things out. My favorite message from a rep is "already tried it, here's what converted" - not "what should I say?"
- You're hungry, genuinely. That part can't be taught.
WHAT YOU GET
- 100% commission, uncapped, forever - and a real say in building the structure, not a number handed down
- Every tool you need, on my card
- Direct access to someone building this for real, not theorizing about it
- A clear path: closer -> proven closer with input on the offer -> the person training and running the next reps
HOW TO APPLY
Start with "LET'S CLOSE", then answer these - short and real beats long and polished.
1. What are you doing right now (or most recently) in contractor lead-gen sales? Company, vertical(s), your exact role.
2. Walk me through the exact pricing model to the contractor you've worked under - per lead, per appointment, retainer, hybrid? Real numbers.
3. Your commission structure on real deals, with one real example: deal closed, contract value, what you personally earned.
4. Walk me through your sales process end to end, first contact to signed/paid client. Follow-up cadence, top 2 objections, how you handle them.
5. How do you build your own pipeline of contractor prospects? Tools and volume.
6. Tell me about a deal that FELL THROUGH - what happened, what did you learn, what would you do differently? (This one matters more than you think.)
7. Cost to generate a lead runs $15-30. How would you price it to the contractor so it's profitable for them AND leaves you real commission? Show your thinking.
8. Ever worked 100% commission-only with zero base? How did you manage the slow stretches? Real story.
9. Why you? Not your skills - I'll see those above. Why should I bet on YOU to be the first person in this sales org?
10. When can you start? Availability?
I read every application that follows the rules. The ones that don't answer question 9 for me.
If you've been closing deals that made someone else's company - and you're ready to help build one instead of just working in one - this is it. Let's close.
