Moody Imagery is an Australian wedding studio. Our films are NOT highlight reels — they're story-driven films that show who a couple truly are. We're looking for a senior editor who can take a wedding from raw footage to a finished, cinematic, emotional film, start to finish.
IMPORTANT: You must be an expert in DaVinci Resolve. This is our platform — edit page, colour, and Fairlight sound design. Please do NOT apply if your primary tool is Premiere or Final Cut.
HOW WE EDIT:
• We build the story with sound FIRST, visuals second — vows, ceremony
• Films follow an emotional arc: Energy ? Intimacy ? Meaning ? Connection ? Celebration (not a chronological recap)
• Footage is chosen in this priority: emotion ? interaction between people ? story
• Pacing must evolve across the film — never one rhythm throughout
• Films should feel like a warm, nostalgic memory, not a generic highlight reel
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
• Build the full story edit and emotional arc from culled selects
• Music selection and timing
• Colour grade (warm, filmic, nostalgic)
• Immersive sound design — ambience, laughter, environmental sound
• Deliver finished films on time, consistently
YOU MUST HAVE:
• Expert-level DaVinci Resolve skills (editing, colour, sound)
• A strong storytelling instinct — you can feel where a film needs to breathe
• Excellent written English and communication
• Fast, reliable internet for large video file transfer
• Reliability with deadlines — this matters as much as the craft
HOW TO APPLY: Start your reply with the word "RESOLVE" so we know you read this. Send (1) your showreel or 2–3 FULL wedding films (not just highlight snippets — we want to see how you hold a story across a whole film), (2) confirmation that DaVinci Resolve is your primary tool, and (3) a few lines about a film you're proud of and the storytelling choice behind it. Shortlisted editors will be PAID to complete a short story-edit test: we'll send culled selects from one wedding and ask you to build the arc, grade, and sound-design a short film from it.
