TSGBH is looking for a dependable and highly organized Program Coordinator to support our North Carolina Medicaid 1915(i) program.
Your main responsibility will be to help move potential clients through the intake and care-coordination process—from the first call through assessment, eligibility follow-up, authorization, and assignment to the service team. This is an active follow-up role, not simply a scheduling or data-entry position.
We are hiring for a long-term position. We are not looking for someone who frequently moves between companies or only stays in a role for a few months. We want someone who is ready to learn our systems, grow with the company, and become a dependable member of our team.
Starting Pay
$3.50 USD per hour
There is potential for the rate to increase over time based on performance, reliability, quality of work, and long-term commitment.
Primary Responsibilities
Contact new referrals and explain the program in clear, simple language.
Confirm that potential clients are interested in continuing the process.
Verify Medicaid coverage and identify the correct health plan.
Locate and communicate with assigned Care Managers or Care Coordinators.
Coordinate assessment appointments between clients and Care Managers.
Send appointment reminders and follow up after missed appointments.
Track eligibility decisions, care plans, provider selection, and authorization status.
Maintain accurate client records and update
Document calls,
Follow up consistently when clients, Care Managers, or other parties do not respond.
Prepare completed cases for handoff to the supervisor and service team.
Follow approved privacy, HIPAA, and confidentiality procedures.
The coordinator is expected to make first outreach within one business day, keep every open case assigned to a next action and due date, and ensure pending cases receive regular follow-up.

Healthcare, behavioral health, insurance verification, intake, customer service, scheduling, or care-coordination experience is preferred but not required. The role includes structured training and a 30-, 60-, and 90-day development process.
