JOB OVERVIEW

TSGBH is looking for a dependable and highly organized Program Coordinator to support our North Carolina Medicaid 1915(i) program.

Your main responsibility will be to help move potential clients through the intake and care-coordination process—from the first call through assessment, eligibility follow-up, authorization, and assignment to the service team. This is an active follow-up role, not simply a scheduling or data-entry position.

We are hiring for a long-term position. We are not looking for someone who frequently moves between companies or only stays in a role for a few months. We want someone who is ready to learn our systems, grow with the company, and become a dependable member of our team.

Starting Pay

$3.50 USD per hour

There is potential for the rate to increase over time based on performance, reliability, quality of work, and long-term commitment.

Primary Responsibilities
Contact new referrals and explain the program in clear, simple language.
Confirm that potential clients are interested in continuing the process.
Verify Medicaid coverage and identify the correct health plan.
Locate and communicate with assigned Care Managers or Care Coordinators.
Coordinate assessment appointments between clients and Care Managers.
Send appointment reminders and follow up after missed appointments.
Track eligibility decisions, care plans, provider selection, and authorization status.
Maintain accurate client records and update ---------- daily.
Document calls, emails, outcomes, next steps, owners, and due dates.
Follow up consistently when clients, Care Managers, or other parties do not respond.
Prepare completed cases for handoff to the supervisor and service team.
Follow approved privacy, HIPAA, and confidentiality procedures.

The coordinator is expected to make first outreach within one business day, keep every open case assigned to a next action and due date, and ensure pending cases receive regular follow-up.

Who We Are Looking For

The right applicant is:

Reliable and consistent with excellent attendance.
Looking for stable, long-term employment.
Comfortable making and receiving professional phone calls.
Able to speak and write clearly in English.
Organized and able to manage several cases at the same time.
Persistent without being rude or aggressive.
Able to follow up repeatedly until a clear answer is received.
Detail-oriented and committed to accurate documentation.
Comfortable working with deadlines, task boards, and follow-up schedules.
Able to protect confidential client information.
Willing to accept feedback, follow procedures, and continue learning.
Equipped with a dependable computer, stable internet, headset, and private workspace.

Healthcare, behavioral health, insurance verification, intake, customer service, scheduling, or care-coordination experience is preferred but not required. The role includes structured training and a 30-, 60-, and 90-day development process.

This Role Is Not a Good Fit If You
Frequently leave positions after only a few months.
Are currently working several full-time jobs.
Avoid making phone calls.
Need constant reminders to complete assigned work.
Struggle to document your work accurately.
Stop following up after sending one email or making one call.
Are only looking for temporary work while waiting for another opportunity.
