JOB OVERVIEW

I am looking for a highly organized, detail-oriented freelancer to help develop a professional home design specification package for builders, renovators, and homeowners.

I will provide the design selections and product specifications. Your role will be to organize this information into an intuitive, visually appealing system that is easy for clients and builders to understand and use.

The finished product will combine a comprehensive Excel specification workbook with a polished two-page marketing document. We will begin with one project, with the opportunity for ongoing work as additional home packages are developed.

Scope of Work
1. Home Specification Workbook

Create a professionally designed Excel workbook containing all design selections and specifications for a home. The workbook should:

Organize information clearly by room and category
Be intuitive and easy to navigate
Include product names, manufacturers, colours, finishes and model numbers
Include clickable links to products and suppliers
Include product photographs or reference images
Show individual product costs and estimated totals
Track room-level and overall budgets
Allow products and costs to be updated efficiently
Use formulas, filters, dropdown menus and other helpful Excel functions where appropriate
Maintain a consistent and professional visual style throughout
Be suitable for use by homeowners, builders, trades and purchasing teams

Tile and stone
Plumbing fixtures
Lighting
Cabinetry and millwork
Countertops
Appliances
Paint and wall finishes
Doors and hardware
Furniture and accessories
Exterior finishes
Landscaping selections
2. Two-Page Marketing and Sales Document

Create a polished, visually appealing two-page document that can be used to market and sell the home design package online.

The sales document should clearly communicate:

What is included in the package
Who the package is designed for
The design aesthetic and overall vision
The approximate construction or finishing budget
How the package helps clients save time, control costs and make coordinated design decisions
Key features and benefits
Representative images from the package
A clear call to action

The document should feel elevated, modern and appropriate for the home design and construction industry.

3. Document Protection and Digital Delivery

Research and recommend a practical method for protecting the digital product. The goal is to limit unauthorized copying and sharing and, if technically feasible, restrict access to one purchaser or one registered computer.

Because standard Excel password protection does not provide true one-computer licensing, experience with digital rights management, licence-key systems, protected download platforms or secure client portals would be a strong asset.

Deliverables

The initial project will include:

One complete and fully formatted Excel home specification workbook
A clear room-by-room and category-based organizational structure
Product links, pricing, photographs and budget calculations
One professionally designed two-page marketing document
Editable source files and final client-ready versions
A recommended solution for licensing, protecting and delivering the digital files
A reusable framework that can be adapted for future home packages
Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will have:

Strong Excel skills, including formulas, formatting, filters, dropdowns and workbook organization
Exceptional attention to detail
Experience creating polished, client-facing spreadsheets
Graphic design, document design or presentation-design experience
An excellent sense of visual hierarchy, spacing, typography and layout
The ability to organize a large amount of information clearly
Experience with construction specifications, interior design, architecture or home building
Experience creating digital products for online sale
Familiarity with file protection, licensing or digital rights management
Strong written communication and the ability to work collaboratively
Availability for additional projects if the first package is successful
Project Structure

This will begin as a paid freelance project involving one home design package which will take 1 month. If the process and finished product are successful, there will be opportunities to create additional packages in a variety of aesthetics and budget ranges.
