Workspace AV is a UK commercial Audio Visual integrator. We design and install AV systems for offices, boardrooms and meeting rooms, and we produce detailed AutoCAD schematics for every project. Our drawing workload is growing, so we are looking for a skilled AV CAD drafter to join the team on a long term basis and take on a share of that work.
The role
You will produce AV system schematics, rack elevations, signal flow diagrams and cable schedules in AutoCAD, working to our established house drawing standard. We will give you our template, block library and cable numbering convention. Your job is to render each system to that standard accurately and consistently.
This starts as a three month probation, but it is a real, ongoing role. We want someone who wants to stay and grow with us, not a short project.
What you will be doing
Drawing AV signal flow and system schematics in AutoCAD from our specifications and marked up sketches
Producing rack elevations and cable schedules
Working to our title block, layer standard and block library exactly as set out
Keeping drawings clean, consistent and correctly numbered
Communicating clearly with our team about queries and revisions
What we need
Strong AutoCAD skills, comfortable with 2D drafting in AutoCAD 2026 or a recent version
Real experience drafting AV, electrical, low voltage or MEP systems, meaning signal flow, wiring and connectivity schematics, not only architectural floor plans
The discipline to follow a defined title block, layer and block standard precisely
Confident with dynamic blocks and attributes
Good written English and clear, prompt communication
A reliable computer capable of running AutoCAD, and a stable internet connection
The ability to read a UK specification or a marked up sketch and turn it into a finished drawing
Nice to have
Familiarity with AV equipment such as codecs, HDBaseT extenders, PTZ cameras and network switches
Experience with D-Tools, Stardraw, Visio or Revit
Ability to create or edit dynamic blocks and LISP routines
Software and hours
We provide the AutoCAD licence. You provide a reliable computer and internet connection.
This is a full time role, forty hours a week, Monday to Friday, with a few hours of overlap with UK working hours each day (around3pm to 6pm Philippine time) so we can talk during our morning.
Pay
Paid monthly via Wise.
How we will hire
We review your portfolio and a couple of AutoCAD samples
Shortlisted applicants complete a short paid trial task, which is a real drawing produced to our standard
The successful candidate signs a short NDA and an agreement confirming that all drawings produced belong to Workspace AV, then begins the three month probation
How to apply
Please send us:
A short note about your AV, electrical or systems CAD experience
Two or three samples of your AutoCAD work as PDF, ideally schematic, wiring or systems drawings rather than architectural plans
The AutoCAD version you currently use
