We are seeking a Technical Copywriter & Marketing Documentation Specialist to join the product team and be responsible for creating, updating, and maintaining product documentation, technical manuals, installation guides, specification sheets, e-commerce product pages, and supporting marketing collateral.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of technical writing experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment, with exceptional ability to translate complex engineering information into clear, accurate, and user-friendly documentation. This role demands a highly detail-oriented professional with advanced Adobe InDesign proficiency, outstanding written English, and demonstrated ability to produce technical documentation without relying on AI-generated content. You will work directly with the Product Manager and collaborate closely with engineering, marketing, and internal stakeholders to maintain accurate, professional, and brand-consistent documentation.
Job Responsibilities:
-Write, edit, and maintain comprehensive technical documentation including product manuals, installation and assembly guides, technical specification sheets, and operating instructions.
-Translate complex engineering and technical information into clear, accurate documentation and e-commerce product pages suitable for customers, installers, and distributors.
-Update and manage documentation using existing Adobe InDesign templates while maintaining visual consistency.
-Ensure all documentation is technically accurate, professionally presented, and consistent with company branding guidelines.
-Collaborate closely with the Product Manager, engineering, marketing, and other internal stakeholders to gather requirements and technical information.
-Maintain document version control and ensure all published materials remain current and accurate.
-Support product-focused marketing initiatives with additional collateral, brochures, presentations, and document formatting as required.
-Assist with website content updates, product page optimization, and other marketing projects when needed.
-Review and edit technical content for clarity, accuracy, and professional presentation.
-Interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and supplier documentation to inform documentation development.
-Ensure comprehensive documentation for new and existing product lines meets quality standards and company specifications.
-Manage document control processes and maintain organized filing systems for all technical materials.
-Proactively identify documentation gaps and recommend improvements to processes and templates.
Qualifications:
-Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience in technical writing within a manufacturing, industrial, or engineering environment.
-Demonstrated ability to write highly accurate technical documentation without dependence on AI writing tools.
-Exceptional written English with outstanding grammar, spelling, and editing skills.
-Advanced proficiency in Adobe InDesign with proven ability to work with templates and maintain design consistency.
-Strong working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat).
-High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneDrive.
-Ability to understand complex technical concepts and communicate them clearly to diverse audiences.
-Outstanding attention to detail with commitment to producing error-free work.
-Excellent organizational and time management skills with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
-Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with internal teams across departments.
-Highly organized and methodical approach to work and documentation management.
-Natural curiosity and willingness to learn complex technical products.
-Self-motivated with excellent problem-solving skills.
-Strong communicator who enjoys collaborating across departments.
-Experience in pump, industrial equipment, engineering, mechanical, manufacturing, or technical products sectors is strongly preferred.
-Familiarity with Adobe Acrobat Pro and PDF editing is preferred.
-Experience using Shopify or other e-commerce platforms to update website content is preferred.
-Experience working with engineering drawings, technical specifications, and supplier documentation is preferred.
-Understanding of document control and quality management processes is preferred.
