JOB OVERVIEW

A Couple & A Dream is a design-build studio in Clearwater, Florida. We design and
build kitchen and bathroom renovations, and we do both under one roof — the same
team that draws it is the team that builds it.

Our team is fully remote. Our designer and project manager work from the
Philippines, our operations manager works from Colombia, and our founders are in
Florida. You would be joining a small, senior team where your work is visible
every single day.

WHAT THIS ROLE IS

You will own everything we buy.

We are hiring one person to take full ownership of materials, from finding the
product, to negotiating the price, to making sure the right thing arrives on the
right day in the right condition.

You have an interior design background, so you can read a set of drawings, look
at a finish schedule, and understand what the designer actually meant. That is
why we are not hiring a general purchasing clerk.

WHAT YOU WILL OWN

- Every purchase order the company issues. Nobody else will place orders.
- Turning design specifications into buyable material lists: SKU, finish, size,
quantity with waste, vendor, price, lead time.
- Opening and managing trade accounts with US suppliers (Home Depot, Floor &
Decor, Ferguson, tile distributors, plumbing and lighting suppliers).
- Negotiating trade discounts, volume pricing and payment terms.
- Scheduling every delivery against the construction schedule — not against when
the material happens to be ready.
- Chasing every late order before it delays a job.
- Managing returns, damage claims and warranty claims through to the credit.
- Reconciling three documents on every order: what we ordered, what actually
arrived, and what the vendor billed us.
- Tracking material cost against the approved estimate, in real time, and raising
the flag while the project can still be corrected.
- Building and maintaining our material library so our designer stops losing hours
hunting for specs, pricing and availability.
- Supporting the design team with renderings, mood boards and documentation when
procurement work is done.

WHAT A NORMAL DAY LOOKS LIKE

You start your shift and check what did not arrive yesterday. You call three
suppliers about it. You find out a vanity is discontinued, so you source two
alternatives at the same price point and send them to the designer for approval
before anyone finds out on site. You confirm Wednesday's tile delivery against the
installer's schedule. You catch that an invoice billed us for 14 boxes when 12
arrived, and you open the claim the same day. You update the material library with
the three products you sourced this week.

It is detailed work. It repeats. It matters enormously.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

- A degree or formal training in Interior Design. This is a requirement.
- At least 2 years in procurement, purchasing, FF&E sourcing, or as a design
assistant with real purchasing responsibility.
- Professional written English. You will negotiate with American suppliers in
writing every day.
- You can read floor plans, elevations and finish schedules.
- You can calculate quantities and waste factors without being walked through it.
- Comfortable in Excel or Google Sheets at the level of pivot tables and
reconciliation.
- SketchUp and rendering ability for the design support side of the role.
- Experience working US hours from a remote setup.

You do not need JobTread experience. We will train you on it.

WHO ACTUALLY SUCCEEDS IN THIS ROLE

- You chase things without being asked. Sixty percent of this job is following up
on orders that did not arrive.
- You can tolerate repetitive detail. You will reconcile three documents per order,
every day, without getting sloppy in month four.
- You report bad news early. If a material will not arrive Tuesday, we need to know
Tuesday — not Friday.
- You can say no to the design team. Part of your job is telling a designer that a
beautiful specification cannot be bought in time or in budget, and then finding
something that can.

PLEASE DO NOT APPLY IF

- You are looking for a design-only role. This is a procurement role with a design
component, not the other way around.
- You cannot work US Eastern hours.
- You have only placed orders someone else d ---------- on. We need someone who has
owned the outcome, not just the transaction.

SCHEDULE AND PAY

- Full time, 40 hours per week
- 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM US Eastern Time
- We are being direct about this because it is a night shift and we do not want to
waste your time or ours
- Salary: $[X] per month, reviewed at 6 months
- Long-term role. We are building a team, not filling a gap.

HOW TO APPLY

Start your message with the word BLUEPRINT so we know you read the whole post.

Then answer this one question in your first paragraph:

Tell me about the last time an order you placed arrived incomplete or wrong. What
did you do, in what order, and how long did it take to resolve?

Please also attach your portfolio or a few samples of your design work.

We read every application that answers the question. We do not read the ones that
do not.
