We are a Canadian product-based business looking for one reliable Virtual Assistant to research potential resale products and identify wholesale or online-arbitrage suppliers where those products may be purchased.
The main purpose of this position is to create an organized spreadsheet of potentially viable product leads that meet our initial research criteria.
Main Responsibilities
Find potential resale products that meet the research criteria provided
Locate Canadian wholesalers, distributors, manufacturers, authorized dealers, retailers, and online-arbitrage sources
Search supplier websites, wholesale catalogs, brand websites, retail websites, and approved marketplaces
Confirm that the exact product is available from the identified supplier
Match products accurately using the UPC, model number, size, quantity, package count, scent, colour, or variation
Record all product and supplier information in a provided spreadsheet
Include direct links to the supplier’s product page and the matching comparison listing
Record the current supplier price
Identify minimum order quantities, case quantities, membership requirements, and wholesale-account requirements
Confirm whether the supplier is located in Canada or ships to Canada
Note whether the supplier appears legitimate and established
Record visible concerns, restrictions, missing information, or unusual requirements
Review supplier catalogs for additional product leads
Follow the written product-research criteria exactly
Avoid submitting products that clearly do not meet the initial criteria
Ask questions when unsure rather than guessing
Product Lead Criteria
Clear product-research requirements will be provided. These may include:
Approved product categories
Minimum or maximum selling-price ranges
Minimum demand or sales indicators
Seller-count requirements
Brands or product types to avoid
Supplier-location requirements
Products that must not be sold directly by certain major retailers
Package-size and variation-matching requirements
Product-condition and authenticity requirements
The VA’s responsibility is to find products that appear to meet these initial criteria and enter them accurately into the spreadsheet for review.
Spreadsheet Information
For each potential product lead, the VA may be required to enter:
Product name
Brand
UPC, SKU, or model number
Size, quantity, package count, or variation
Product category
Supplier name
Supplier type

Case quantity or minimum order
Supplier product link
Matching comparison-product link
Current listed selling price
Number of visible sellers
Whether a specified major retailer appears to sell the product
Wholesale-account or membership requirement

Notes, concerns, or missing information
Accuracy is more important than submitting a large number of leads.
Ideal Applicant

Has strong online research skills
Is comfortable using Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel
Pays close attention to UPCs, model numbers, package quantities, sizes, and product variations

Communicates clearly when a product or supplier requires further review
Has reliable internet and good written English
Is consistently available for approximately 10 hours per week

Paid Training, product criteria, spreadsheets, and research templates will be provided.
