POSITION SUMMARY APPLICABLE TO THIS ROLE
The Sales Support & Renewal Specialist plays a vital role within Syntric’s commercial
operations, supporting the sales team through accurate quoting, proactive renewal
management, and seamless procurement coordination. This position sits at the
intersection of sales, project delivery, and vendor relationships, ensuring clients receive
timely and competitive commercial responses while internal teams are equipped with
the materials and consumables they need to deliver.
Day-to-day activities for the successful candidate will include:
• Creating and managing run-rate and renewal quotes for clients across the Syntric
portfolio utilising SIMPRO.
• Requesting, refreshing, and managing quotes from distributors and vendors such
as Cisco, Aruba, Juniper, Codecom and Fortinet
• Tracking and communicating order ETAs, liaising between vendors, distributors,
and project teams
• Assisting project teams with sourcing and ordering consumables such as patch
leads, fibre cabling, and SFP transceivers
• Monitoring the renewals calendar and proactively managing licence, support
contract, and warranty renewals
• Maintaining accurate CRM/quoting records and providing pipeline and order
status reporting to management
The successful applicant will:
• Demonstrate a solid working knowledge of IT networking and firewall concepts
across vendors such as Cisco, Aruba, Juniper, and Fortinet product lines
• Bring strong commercial acumen with experience in quoting, pricing, and margin
management in a technology reseller or MSP environment
• Have experience working with distributors such as Ingram Micro, Dicker Data and Westcon
- Demonstrate a highly organised approach to managing competing priorities, open quotes, and multiple stakeholder
relationships simultaneously
- Communicate clearly and professionally with vendors, and internal teams
- Display a proactive, ownership-driven mindset with the ability to work independently and drive outcomes without
close supervision
• Enjoy working within a collaborative team environment spanning sales, project
delivery, and technical operations
• Be experienced in or comfortable with a fast-paced IT reseller, MSP, or systems
integrator environment
DETAILS ASSOCIATED WITH KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Creation of accurate run-rate quotes for existing clients, including correct product
configurations, current vendor pricing, and appropriate margin. [25% of activity]
2. Request, refresh, and manage vendor and distributor quotes ensuring timely turnaround and current pricing. [15% of
activity]
3. Process and track purchase orders, manage open order ETAs, and communicate delivery updates proactively to project
managers and clients. [20% of activity]
4. Assist project teams with sourcing and ordering of consumables including patch leads, fibre cabling, and SFP
transceivers. [10% of activity]
5. Monitor the renewals calendar and proactively engage clients ahead of expiry to create and present renewal quotes for
licences, support agreements, and warranties. [20% of activity]
6. Maintain CRM and quoting system records, produce pipeline and order status reports, and contribute to continuous
improvement of sales support processes. [5% of activity]
7. Collaborate with Account Managers, Project Managers, and technical teams to support active opportunities, and attend
commercial and operational workshops as required.
8. Other duties as reasonably directed by your Manager.
ACADEMIC & TRADES QUALIFICATIONS APPLICABLE TO THIS ROLE
Essential:
- Prior experience in a sales support, inside sales, or procurement coordination role within an IT reseller, MSP, or systems
integrator.
- Foundation-level knowledge of IT networking and firewall technologies (switching, routing, wireless, security)
- Proficiency with a CRM or quoting platform (e.g. SIMPRO)
Desirable:
- Tertiary qualification in Business, IT, or a related field
- Vendor sales or technical certification across Cisco, Aruba, Juniper, or Fortinet (e.g. CCNA, NSE, Aruba Sales Certified)
WORK EXPERIENCE & SKILLS APPLICABLE TO THIS ROLE
Essential:
- 2+ years of experience in a sales support, procurement, or inside sales role within the technology sector
- Strong attention to detail in quoting and order processing — accuracy in SKUs, quantities, pricing, and lead times
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple open tasks and competing priorities in a fastpaced environment
Desirable:
- Experience with distributor portals such as Ingram Micro, Dicker Data, or Westcon
- Familiarity with IT vendor licensing models (subscription, perpetual, SMARTnet/Smartcare)
