# Short-Form Video Editor – Sports Cards and Pokémon

We are an Australian sports card and trading card business looking for a reliable short-form video editor to help us grow our social media presence.

We currently operate as an online business and sell sports cards, Pokémon cards, sealed products and card breaks. We are also planning to expand into a physical retail store within the next 12 months.

We are looking to increase our content across TikTok, Instagram Reels, Facebook Reels and YouTube Shorts. This is intended to be a long-term role, with the amount of available work expected to increase as our social media channels and business grow.

## About the Role

You will edit short-form videos of sports card and Pokémon card box openings.

The editing style will be relatively simple and repeatable. The main concept will involve displaying a profit-and-loss tracker throughout the box opening.

As each relevant card is revealed, its value will be displayed on screen and added to the running total. We will provide all card prices, so you will not be required to research card values.

You will initially receive approximately one video per day.

Most raw footage will be approximately five minutes long, with the completed video generally expected to be around two minutes long.

## Main Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include:

* Editing approximately one short-form video per day
* Turning approximately five minutes of raw footage into a finished video of around two minutes
* Adding a running profit-and-loss tracker to the video
* Adding the supplied card value over the appropriate card
* Updating the total value as cards are revealed
* Speeding up slower sections, such as opening the box, removing packaging and opening packs
* Keeping important card reveals clear and at an appropriate speed
* Removing unnecessary pauses, mistakes and repetitive footage
* Adding suitable sound effects to improve engagement
* Adding simple zooms, transitions, captions or visual effects where appropriate
* Exporting videos in vertical 9:16 format
* Returning the completed file to us rather than uploading it directly

We are looking for someone who can develop a consistent editing style and reusable template that can be applied across future videos.

## Turnaround Time

We are looking for a normal turnaround time of 24–48 hours after the raw footage, instructions and card prices have been provided.

The work will be supplied consistently, so reliability and the ability to maintain a steady daily workflow are more important than extremely fast editing.

Any requested minor revisions should generally be completed within 24 hours.

## Sports Card or Pokémon Knowledge

Previous knowledge of sports cards, Pokémon cards or trading card content is strongly preferred.

Ideally, you will already understand why certain card reveals are more important than others and be familiar with terms such as:

* Rookie cards
* Parallels
* Numbered cards
* Autographs
* Inserts
* Hits
* Graded cards
* Box openings and card breaks

You do not need to be an expert in every sport or Pokémon set, but you should have enough knowledge to understand the content and recognise when a card reveal should receive additional emphasis.

## Requirements

The ideal applicant will have:

* Previous experience editing TikTok, Instagram Reels, Facebook Reels or YouTube Shorts
* Experience using CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve or similar editing software
* A good understanding of short-form video pacing
* Strong attention to detail
* Good English comprehension
* The ability to correctly match supplied prices to the appropriate cards
* The ability to meet consistent 24–48 hour deadlines
* Reliable internet access and suitable editing equipment
* Good communication and the ability to follow a repeatable editing format
* An interest in sports cards, Pokémon or trading cards

## Working Arrangement

This is a remote, long-term position.

The initial workload will be approximately:

* One to two videos per day
* Approximately 7-14 videos per week
* Approximately five minutes of raw footage per video
* Approximately two minutes of finished footage per video

There is likely to be additional work available as our social media presence grows. This may eventually include additional box openings, card-break highlights, promotional videos and other short-form content.

## Payment

We are currently open to either:

* A fixed rate per completed video; or
* An hourly arrangement

Shortlisted applicants may be asked to complete a paid trial edit using footage and instructions supplied by us. The paid trial will help us assess your editing quality, attention to detail, communication and understanding of sports card or Pokémon content.
