Part Time
$250 PER WEEK
20
Aug 4, 2026
We make frameless shower screens in Yatala on the Gold Coast, Australia. We have been doing it for more than 30 years. Our screens go into new homes, apartments and bathroom renovations right across Australia, and we work directly with builders, renovators and homeowners.
We are looking for one person to join us part time, 20 hours a week to start, growing to full time as you take on more.
This is a real construction role. It is not a general virtual assistant role. If you have never read a set of building plans, this job is not for you.
Your hours
7:00am to 11:00am Manila time, Monday to Friday. That is 9:00am to 1:00pm where we are, so we are both at our desks at the same time and you can ask questions and get an answer straight away.
What you will do
You will start on order entry. Orders come in through our own ordering app. You take the details from the app and build the job in AroFlo, our job management system. This part is straightforward and we will train you on it.
Once you are confident with that, you will move onto the bigger part of the job. Some of our builder clients run Buildertrend. They give us access to their projects. You will go into each builder's Buildertrend account, read their schedule, download the current plans, work out what shower screens the job needs and what size they are, price it, and then build and schedule that job in AroFlo.
Every builder does things differently. One will file plans in a folder called Drawings, another calls it Construction Set. One expects you to confirm every scheduled date, another does not. You will keep a cheat sheet for each builder and follow their rules exactly, every time. If you are the kind of person who gets annoyed by inconsistency and wants to standardise everything, you will find this frustrating. If you are the kind of person who quietly keeps a checklist for each client and never gets one wrong, you will do well here.
What you need
You can read a set of construction plans and find what you need. Floor plans, enlarged bathroom plans, internal elevations, sections and details. You know what a scale of 1:50 means and you know why you should never scale a dimension when a written dimension exists.
You work in millimetres and you are comfortable with it.
Your written English is strong. You will be writing to Australian builders. Clear, correct, professional English is the single most important thing on this list.
You are careful. This role is about getting small numbers right, every time, for years. A wrong dimension costs us a sheet of toughened glass and a day of an installer's time.
You ask when you are not sure. We would much rather answer a question than fix a mistake. Guessing quietly is the only thing that will get you removed from this role.
You have a reliable internet connection and a computer that can open large PDF plan sets without struggling.
Nice to have, not required
Experience with AroFlo. If you have used SimPRO, ServiceM8, Tradify or Buildxact, that counts too.
Experience with Buildertrend, Procore or a similar builder platform.
Experience with Australian residential construction.
A background in civil engineering, architecture, quantity surveying or building technology.
Experience with take-off software such as Bluebeam or PlanSwift.
What we offer
AUD $250 per week for 20 hours of work. You send us an invoice at the end of each week and we pay it by bank transfer.
20 hours a week. This is a part time role and we want to be straight with you about that. If our workload grows we may need more hours from you later, but we are not promising that, we are not putting a date on it, and you should take this job on the basis of 20 hours. If more hours ever come up we will agree the rate with you at that time.
[CONFIRM: 13th month pay. Delete this line if you are not offering it.]
Proper training. Brad, our Sales Manager, will train you personally over screen share. You are not being thrown in.
A pay review at 3 months and again at 12 months.
Long term work. We are not looking for a project, we are looking for someone who will still be here in five years.
How to apply
Send your application with the subject line: Shower screen estimator, [YOUR CITY]
In your message, answer these four things. Applications that do not answer all four will not be read.
Tell me about one set of construction plans you have worked from. What was the project, what did you have to work out from the drawings, and what was the hardest part?
What software have you used for job management, estimating or take-offs?
A drawing shows a bathroom with a shower recess dimensioned 900 mm between two walls. The plan note says all dimensions are to the face of stud framing. The tiling schedule shows 10 mm tiles. What questions would you ask before quoting a shower screen for that opening?
How many hours a week are you currently working for other clients, and what are those hours?
Shortlisted applicants will be given a paid test task. It takes about two hours and we pay AUD $50 for it whether or not you get the job. We will send you a real set of plans and ask you to produce a scope and a set of measurements.
