ABOUT THE ROLE
We're an AI-first education company, and we're hiring a second Automations & Tech Specialist because our build demand has outgrown one person. Every funnel, automation, and workflow that powers our company has to work perfectly, especially when 20,000+ people are in a live masterclass or 3,000+ students onboard at once.
This is a hands-on building role. You'll own funnel builds, automations, and workflow updates across marketing and operations. You're comfortable with AI tools (we use Claude every day), you think in logic flows, and you take pride in having zero broken automations.
If you're a builder who loves GoHighLevel and n8n and wants to grow, keep reading.
ABOUT THE COMPANY
The Uncommon Business is one of the world's fastest-growing AI-first education companies. We teach business leaders to build intelligent systems, not just prompt tools. We don't do busywork, legacy thinking, or 80-hour work weeks. We build systems where AI handles the repeatable work and humans do the irreplaceable work. We're profitable and run on EOS. You'll be promoted based on impact and ownership, not how long you've been here. High performers thrive here. Passengers don't last.
WHAT YOU'LL DO (YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES)
GoHighLevel Build Ownership: Build, optimize, and maintain automations, funnels, forms, pipelines, and membership portals inside GoHighLevel for marketing and student delivery. You're comfortable in GHL custom code, and you can take Claude-generated HTML and turn it into a live, tested page without hand-holding.
Automation in n8n and GoHighLevel: Build and monitor the automations connecting our tools (GHL, Slack, Notion, Baserow, Thinkific, Supabase, and ManyChat) with zero broken workflows. New builds go into n8n, where you build in error-handling and self-healing. You also keep our legacy Zapier automations running while we migrate them to n8n.
Marketing Funnel Delivery: Own the funnel and automation builds behind launches and campaigns. Move fast without dropping quality so Marketing and Operations don't bottleneck on one builder.
First-Line Support and Monitoring: Be the first responder when something breaks. Diagnose tag errors, workflow gaps, and integration failures within 24 hours, and own the access and build requests coming through the intake queue. Then automate the recurring problems away with error-handlers and batched alert digests.
Documentation and Clean Handoffs: Document what you build with process maps and Loom walkthroughs so anyone can maintain it. Your handoffs never come back with questions.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR (REQUIREMENTS)
You have built production automations in GoHighLevel AND n8n or Zapier that handle hundreds of users and hold up under heavy traffic, with real error handling, not just simple workflows.
You have n8n experience and want to grow it, and you're comfortable in GHL custom code enough to take a block of Claude-generated HTML and ship it live.
You are AI-first and use Claude (or similar) daily to build faster, troubleshoot smarter, and document better, and you know when to double-check by hand.
You think in process maps and can turn a messy workflow into a clean diagram with decision trees and system links that anyone can follow.
You are detail-obsessed and stay calm under pressure. When 3,000 students are onboarding and something breaks, you investigate, fix, and communicate without panicking.
You can work USA CST business hours (9am – 5pm CST) and have a reliable computer and internet connection.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
Build Velocity: Complete 100% of assigned funnel, automation, and workflow builds on time and within scope, tested, with clean handoff docs.
System Uptime: Maintain 99%+ reliability across the GoHighLevel and automation workflows you own, with zero critical failures during launch seasons.
Zero Broken Automations: Monitor your integrations with proactive testing and instant response when a third-party platform changes.
Launch Readiness: Deliver every launch-critical funnel and automation build ahead of go-live, tested end to end.
Documentation: Ship a process map and Loom for 100% of custom builds, kept current as systems change.
SCHEDULE EXPECTATIONS
Your normal schedule is USA CST business hours, 9am – 5pm.
Twice per year we run launch seasons (about 10–12 weeks total) that are high-intensity. During these periods, tea
This pace is not for everyone, and that's okay. We're clear about it up front so that only people who thrive in a high-accountability, high-impact environment choose to be here. Outside of launch seasons, the workload is sustainable and strategic.
