Position: Bookkeeper, licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA) Employment type: Full-time, unlimited hours available Schedule: Flexible, with 3 to 5 hours of overlap with United States (US) Central Time business hours Pay: [Insert monthly salary or hourly rate]
About the role
I own a CPA firm in Austin, Texas. My clients are S corporation owners, real estate investors, and content creators. I am hiring a licensed CPA or CA to handle client bookkeeping. Your job is to keep the books clean, accurate, and tax-ready. You will not prepare tax returns. I prepare all tax returns.
What you will do
Monthly bookkeeping in QuickBooks Online (QBO) for multiple client companies
Bank, credit card, and loan reconciliations
Transaction categorization with tax awareness, for example separating owner distributions from business expenses and fixed asset purchases from repairs
Month-end close, including adjusting journal entries and depreciation entries from schedules I provide
Recording payroll entries from Gusto payroll reports
Preparing financial statements and clean workpapers that support tax return preparation
Tracking vendor payments for Form 1099 reporting
Flagging unusual items for my review with clear written notes
Requirements
Licensed CPA in the Philippines or a Chartered Accountant
At least 3 years of bookkeeping experience, including experience with US-based businesses
Strong QBO skills, including reconciliations, journal entries, and report preparation
Working knowledge of basic US tax concepts that affect bookkeeping, such as S corporation officer payroll versus distributions, fixed assets and depreciation, and deductible versus nondeductible expenses. You do not need to know how to prepare US tax returns.
Strong written English
Reliable computer and internet connection
Hours and schedule
This is a full-time role with unlimited hours available. There is more work than one person can finish, so you can work as many hours as you want to work.
You do not have to work a full US shift. Most of your hours can be during normal Philippine daytime. I ask that 3 to 5 hours of your schedule overlap my business hours in Austin, Texas, which is US Central Time. As an example, working from 4:00 AM to 8:00 AM or 7:00 p.m.–11:00 p.m Philippine time.
