About the Role
We run a portfolio of businesses operated largely by AI agents. We are hiring an experienced Print on Demand (POD) operator whose job is not to run a POD store manually — it is to teach our AI agents how to run one. You will document your knowledge as step-by-step processes (SOPs), train the agent through examples and feedback, review the agent's output, and continuously refine its instructions until the business runs with minimal human input.
This is a role for someone who has actually run POD stores and can explain why things work, not just how to click buttons.
What You'll Do
1) Design the end-to-end POD workflow (niche research ? design briefs ? listing creation ? pricing ? fulfillment ? customer service) as clear, written SOPs an AI agent can follow
2) Train the agent by reviewing its niche picks, listings, titles/tags, and design briefs — approving, correcting, and explaining your reasoning
3) Set quality standards: what a good listing looks like, what gets rejected, and why
4) Monitor early store performance and translate learnings into updated agent instructions
5) Flag platform policy risks (trademark/IP issues, account health) and build guardrails into the process
Required Experience
1) 2+ years hands-on experience running POD stores (your own or for clients) on Etsy, Amazon Merch, Shopify, or TikTok Shop
2) Deep familiarity with at least one POD supplier stack (Printify, Printful, Gelato, or similar)
3) Proven niche/keyword research skills (eRank, EverBee, Merch Informer, or similar tools)
4) Strong understanding of trademark/IP risk in POD and how to avoid account suspensions
5) Excellent written English — this role is mostly writing instructions and feedback
6) Comfortable working with AI tools (ChatGPT, Midjourney, or similar); you don't need to be technical, but you can't be afraid of AI
Nice to Have
1) Experience writing SOPs or training other VAs
2) Experience with AI-generated designs and prompt writing
3) Data-driven mindset (you track CTR, conversion, and returns, not just sales)
How We Work
Remote and mostly async. You'll communicate in written English via chat and short documents. Flexible hours with some overlap for check-ins.
Application Questionnaire (required)
Please answer all questions in English. Short, specific answers beat long generic ones.
1) Describe the most successful POD store you've worked on: platform, niche, your role, and results (revenue range or units sold is fine — we don't need exact numbers, but be specific about what YOU did).
2) Walk us through your niche research process step by step, naming the exact tools you use at each step.
3) A design idea references a popular sports team's colors and city name but not its logo. Do you publish it? Explain your reasoning.
4) What are the three most common reasons POD listings fail to sell, in your experience?
5) Have you ever had a POD account suspended or a listing taken down? What happened and what did you change afterward?
6) Have you used AI tools (ChatGPT, Midjourney, etc.) in your POD work? Give one concrete example.
7) Imagine you must teach a very literal-minded new employee to write Etsy listing titles. Write the exact instructions you would give them (5–10 lines).
