# Junior Developer / AI Automation Assistant (Work From Home, Long Term)

Salary: $400 USD per month to start, with reviews at 3 and 6 months
Hours: Full time, work from home
Start: As soon as we find the right person

## About us

We run a small company called CallHandlers. We built an AI receptionist that answers the phone for hair and beauty salons in Ireland and the UK.

Here is how it works. A customer rings the salon. Our AI answers, talks to them like a normal receptionist, checks the salon's real booking calendar, finds a free appointment and books it. It also handles cancellations, takes messages and replies to Instagram DMs.

This is already live. Real salons pay us every month for it. If it stops working on a Saturday morning, a real business loses money, so the work matters.

## Why we are hiring

At the ---------- nt one person builds and runs all of it. The AI agents, the automations, the database, the dashboard, the fixes and the setup of every new salon.

That does not work anymore. We need a second pair of hands, and over time, a second brain.

We are looking for someone junior who is genuinely good, learns fast, and wants to grow into this properly. You will not know everything on day one. Nobody does. What matters is that you pick things up quickly, you are careful, and you actually enjoy figuring out how things work.

We would rather train one good person over months/years than keep hiring cheap people and starting again every few months.

## What you will do

In the beginning, with help:

- Set up new salon clients using the system and templates we already have. Pulling their services, staff and prices from their booking software, checking the details are right, and testing the AI before it goes live.
- Test the AI agents. Ring them, try to break them, write down exactly what went wrong.
- Watch the automations and tell us when something fails. Right now we usually find out too late.
- Fix small bugs and make small improvements to the dashboard.
- Keep the client files and documentation tidy and up to date.

Once you know the system, on your own:

- Handle a full salon setup from start to finish
- Build and change automations in n8n
- Write proper code against the database and the booking software connections
- Improve the tools so setting up a new client takes an hour instead of a day

That last one is the real goal. If you get there, you are worth a lot more to us, and you will be paid accordingly.

## What you need to already know

- JavaScript. You should be comfortable writing it, not just copying it.
- APIs. You should understand what an API is, how to call one, and how to read the documentation.
- Databases. Basic SQL. You should know what a table, a row and a join are.
- Very good English. You will read technical notes and write your own.
- A stable internet connection and your own computer.

Please state honestly if you have experience with the following. Do not lie:

- TypeScript, Node.js, React
- n8n,
- Supabase & PostgreSQL
- ElevenLabs, Vapi or Retell
- Claude Code

## What we will teach you

You will learn the full stack of a real AI product that is live in production. n8n automations, Supabase and PostgreSQL, the ElevenLabs voice agents, Twilio phone systems, React dashboards, and how to connect to booking software that has no documentation.

This is not theory or a course. You will be working on a system that real customers depend on, and you will be able to point at things you built.

## Who this is not for

- People who need a manager checking on them every day. We will show you what to do, but nobody is watching over your shoulder.
- People who only copy and paste from ChatGPT without understanding the answer. Using AI to help is fine and we do it too. Not understanding what you shipped is not fine.
- People looking for something short term while they wait for a better offer. We are investing in whoever we hire.

## Pay and growth

$400 USD per month to start. This is a starting rate for someone junior who still needs training.

We review it at 3 months and again at 6 months. As you take on more and need less help, your pay goes up with it. If you get to the point where you can run a full client setup on your own and improve the system yourself, you will be earning a lot more than you started on.

Be honest with yourself about this. If you are already a senior developer, this rate is not for you and we understand that. If you are early in your career, good at this, and want to grow inside one company instead of jumping around, this is a strong opportunity.

Side Note: If you are a senior that can bring all of this and more to the table and willing to work for the first month on the set pay with an increase in the second month upon review also reply.

## Hours

Full time, Monday to Friday. We need a few hours of overlap with Europe, so roughly 3pm to 11pm Philippine time works best. There is some flexibility on this for the right person.
