Framely is an Australian ecommerce business specialising in custom photo printing, canvas prints and online picture framing.
Our website is:
The website currently has limited organic search visibility. We are building a long-term SEO channel and aim to grow the site to approximately 5,000 monthly organic visitors over the next 12 months.
We are looking for an experienced, hands-on SEO specialist who can take ownership of the strategy, content planning, content production, on-page SEO and performance analysis.
This is not a general virtual assistant role, a backlink-building role or a Shopify development role.
Position overview
Position: Part-Time SEO Strategist & Content Specialist
Hours: Approximately 30 hours per week
Schedule: Flexible, with some availability during Perth/Philippines business hours
Location: Remote
Employment type: Long-term part-time position
Initial engagement: Three-month probation period
Compensation: Approximately PHP37,500–45,000 per month, depending on experience and demonstrated capability
There may be an opportunity to increase the hours and compensation as organic traffic and revenue grow.
How the role will work
We already have:
A Shopify developer who will implement technical changes.
An external backlink provider that will acquire backlinks.
Ahrefs, Google Search Console, GA4 and other required tools.
An existing SEO growth plan and list of potential commercial and informational pages.
You will not initially make direct changes to the Shopify theme.
Instead, you will:
Analyse the website and search data.

Prepare complete content and implementation instructions.
Provide technical SEO specifications to our Shopify developer.
Provide page and anchor recommendations to our backlink provider.
Review completed work and confirm that it has been implemented correctly.
Report on progress and d
The business owner will initially approve and manage the publishing of content and changes. After three to six months, restricted Shopify access may be considered if the working relationship is successful.
Primary responsibilities
SEO strategy and planning
You will be responsible for:
Developing and maintaining a page-level keyword map.
Conducting keyword, competitor and search-intent research.
Determining which keywords should target the homepage, collections, product pages, guides and other landing pages.
Preventing keyword cannibalisation between similar Shopify pages.
Prioritising work based on traffic potential, commercial value and ranking difficulty.
Maintaining a clear three-month and 12-month SEO roadmap.
Identifying new commercial and informational page opportunities.
Reviewing competitors and identifying gaps in Framely’s website structure and content.
You must be able to explain why a page should be created, updated, consolidated or redirected.
Content creation
You will produce complete, publish-ready content rather than only providing general recommendations.
For each new or updated page, your deliverable should normally include:
Recommended URL.
Primary keyword and secondary keyword cluster.
Search intent.
Recommended page type.
SEO title.
Meta description.
H1 heading.
Full H2 and H3 structure.
Complete page copy.
Frequently asked questions.
Internal-link recommendations.
Recommended internal-link anchor text.
Image recommendations.
Image filenames and alt text.
Calls to action.
Schema or structured-data recommendations where relevant.
Notes explaining where the content should appear on the page.
Competitor examples or supporting research where useful.
Content must be written in clear, natural Australian English.
The content should demonstrate genuine product expertise and must not read like generic AI-generated material.
AI tools may be used to assist with research, outlining or editing, but all work must be checked, rewritten where necessary and factually verified before submission.
Existing-page optimisation
You will regularly review and improve existing pages, including:
Homepage.
Shopify collection pages.
Product configurator pages.
Informational guides.
Trade and business pages.
Seasonal gift pages.
About, production and trust pages.
Optimisation may include:
Improving keyword targeting.
Rewriting headings and introductory copy.
Expanding weak or incomplete sections.
Improving page titles and meta descriptions.
Resolving overlapping search intent.
Adding useful FAQs.
Improving calls to action.
Adding internal links.
Improving image SEO.
Improving page structure and user experience.
Identifying content that should be removed, merged or redirected.
Technical SEO direction
You will not be expected to edit Shopify theme code.
You will identify technical issues and prepare clear implementation tickets for our Shopify developer.
Technical recommendations may include:
Indexation and crawlability.
Canonical tags.
Redirects.
Duplicate pages.
Shopify parameter and filter URLs.
Internal-linking problems.
XML sitemaps.
Structured data.
Breadcrumbs.
Page speed and Core Web Vitals.
Image loading and optimisation.
Broken links.
Navigation changes.
Mobile usability.
JavaScript rendering issues.
Merchant Center and product-data consistency.
Each developer ticket should include:

You will review the developer’s completed changes and confirm whether they meet the SEO requirements.
Internal linking and site architecture
You will be responsible for developing and maintaining Framely’s internal-linking strategy.
This includes:
Identifying orphan or poorly linked pages.
Recommending navigation and footer changes.
Linking informational guides to relevant commercial pages.
Linking commercial pages to supporting guides.
Selecting appropriate internal-link anchor text.
Ensuring important pages are accessible within a reasonable number of clicks.
Creating topic clusters around canvas printing, framed photo prints, picture framing, image quality, frame sizes and related subjects.
You will provide the exact source page, destination page and suggested anchor text for recommended internal links.
Backlink strategy and quality control
You will not be required to personally conduct backlink outreach.
We use an external link-building provider to acquire backlinks.
Your responsibility will be to:

Prepare a monthly backlink allocation plan.
Recommend anchor-text categories.
Review proposed websites before placement where possible.
Assess topical relevance, traffic, quality and potential risk.
Reject unsuitable websites.
Review every delivered backlink.
Confirm the destination URL and anchor are correct.
Monitor whether links remain live and indexed.
Adjust backlink targets based on rankings and Search Console data.
You should be comfortable recommending a natural mix of:
Branded anchors.
Brand-plus-service anchors.
Partial-match anchors.
Page-title anchors.
URL anchors.
Occasional exact-match anchors where appropriate.
You must not recommend aggressive or repetitive exact-match anchor strategies.
Analytics and reporting
You will regularly use:

Shopify analytics where access is provided.

Google Merchant Center where relevant.
You will monitor:

Non-branded clicks.

Technical and indexing issues.
Reports must explain what the data means and what action should be taken. We do not want reports that only contain screenshots or exported metrics.
Expected monthly output
The exact workload may vary depending on priorities, but the expected average output is:

Two to four substantial existing-page optimisations.

First 90 days
Month 1: research and foundation
During the first month, you will be expected to:
Audit the existing website.
Review Google Search Console and Ahrefs data.
Review the existing backlink profile.
Identify indexation, technical and content issues.
Create a page-level keyword and intent map.
Review the current Shopify collection and product-page structure.
Identify keyword cannibalisation.
Prepare a prioritised 90-day action plan.
Recommend the first technical developer tickets.
Prepare the first backlink allocation brief.
Begin improving the homepage and main commercial pages.
Month 2: implementation and content
During the second month, you will be expected to:
Complete the main canvas and framed-photo page strategies.
Produce new commercial landing-page content.
Improve existing collection and product pages.
Build the initial internal-linking structure.
Review completed developer work.
Prepare the next technical SEO recommendations.
Monitor early changes in impressions, indexing and rankings.
Coordinate backlink destinations with the external provider.
Month 3: expansion and evaluation
During the third month, you will be expected to:
Publish or prepare the first major informational resources.
Improve pages beginning to receive impressions.
Review ranking and click-through-rate opportunities.
Continue commercial page expansion.
Review the quality of acquired backlinks.
Present a performance summary.
Prepare the next three-month SEO plan.
Traffic alone will not be used to judge the first three months. We will also assess content quality, implementation accuracy, indexed pages, impressions, rankings, backlink quality and your ability to work independently.

Required experience

At least three years of hands-on SEO experience.
