Local SEO Assistant - Full Time - Remote

We’re looking for an SEO Assistant with strong Local SEO experience to manage and improve rankings for service-based businesses. If you know how to move the needle on Google Maps and organic results, this role is for you.

Job Overview:

- Optimize and manage Google Business Profiles (GBP)
- Build and improve service area pages for local rankings
- Handle full on-page SEO (titles, headings, structure, internal links)
- Execute internal linking strategies across websites
- Work inside WordPress to publish, update, and optimize pages
- Improve content quality based on search intent (not just keywords)
- Perform keyword targeting and placement across pages
- Identify and fix keyword cannibalization issues
- Plan and execute SEO strategies (not just tasks - we need thinking)
- Conduct link building outreach (guest posts, niche edits, partnerships)

Analyze performance using tools like:

- Ahrefs
- Google Search Console
- Screaming Frog SEO Spider
- BrightLocal
- LocalFalcon
- Identify opportunities based on data and implement improvements

Requirements

- Minimum 2+ years of SEO experience
- Strong understanding of Local SEO (MUST)
- Proven experience with:
- On-page SEO optimization
- Keyword targeting & placement
- Fixing cannibalization issues
- Internal linking strategies
- Link building & outreach
- Backlink placements & ordering (MUST)
- Experience with Google Business Profile optimization
- Comfortable working in WordPress
- Familiarity with local rank tracking / grid tools
- Experience with citation building and local directories
- Ability to read and act on SEO data (GSC, Ahrefs, crawlers)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to execute clean work
