SpectrumHaven is seeking a highly experienced Principal Telecommunications & RF Systems Architect to lead the planning, design, and implementation of mission-critical communications infrastructure projects supporting public sector, transportation, aviation, public safety, and critical infrastructure clients.
The successful candidate will serve as the technical lead for telecommunications, wireless, RF, network architecture, communications resiliency, and low-voltage systems engineering projects. Responsibilities include development of communications master plans, network architectures, wireless and RF systems, public safety communication systems, cellular and satellite integration strategies, technical specifications, engineering reports, and cost estimates.
This position requires a highly motivated professional capable of leading multidisciplinary engineering efforts and serving as the primary technical authority during client meetings, stakeholder workshops, and proposal pursuits.
Primary Responsibilities
Telecommunications Engineering
Lead design of telecommunications infrastructure systems
Develop communications master plans
Design structured cabling systems
Design fiber optic backbone systems
Develop telecommunications room layouts
Prepare construction drawings and technical specifications
Wireless & RF Engineering
Develop RF system architectures
Perform RF engineering calculations
Conduct antenna placement studies
Develop wireless network designs
Prepare RF coverage assessments
Evaluate public safety communications systems
Network Architecture
Develop enterprise network architectures
Design WAN and LAN systems
Prepare IP addressing schemes
Develop cybersecurity and network segmentation strategies
Integrate cellular, satellite, and fiber transport networks
Public Safety Communications
Design and evaluate P25/LMR systems
Develop interoperability architectures
Support FirstNet integration initiatives
Develop communications failover strategies
Support emergency operations and disaster recovery planning
Communications Resiliency
Design resilient communications architectures
Evaluate redundant communications pathways
Develop continuity-of-operations communications strategies
Design LMR, LTE, and satellite communications integration solutions
Engineering Documentation
Prepare basis-of-design reports
Develop engineering studies
Prepare technical specifications
Develop engineer's opinions of probable cost
Perform QA/QC reviews
Support PE-sealed deliverables
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
15+ years telecommunications engineering experience
Experience with large public-sector projects
Experience with telecommunications infrastructure design
Experience with network architecture
Experience with wireless/RF engineering
Experience preparing specifications and cost estimates
