JOB OVERVIEW

We're looking for a highly skilled Graphic Designer to join a growing iOS health & fitness app.

First and foremost, this is a graphic design role.

We're looking for someone with an excellent visual eye who can create polished, modern graphics for social media, advertising, and our brand.

You should be able to take a reference, idea, screenshot, rough direction, or existing format and turn it into something that looks great.

However, we are not looking for someone who can only edit templates or wait for examples to recreate.

A major part of this role will eventually be taking ownership of creative: researching what's working on social media, finding new formats and trends, developing original concepts, and bringing new ideas to the team.

We're looking for someone who can start as an excellent graphic designer and grow into someone who helps drive PepKit's creative direction.

What You'll Be Doing

Your role will have two major sides:

1. Graphic Design & Creative Production

This will be your primary focus when you first join.

You'll create:

* Social media graphics for Instagram, TikTok, and other platforms
* Static image ads for Meta and other paid channels
* UGC-style static creatives
* Educational graphics and carousels
* Branded social media content
* Variations of high-performing creatives
* Graphics adapted from references and trending formats
* App-focused graphics using screenshots, UI, and product features
* Content for multiple social media accounts
* AI-assisted images and creative assets

When you first start, we'll provide references, templates, examples, brand assets, and clear direction so you can learn our style and understand what we're looking for.

But that's only the beginning.

2. Creative Research, Ideas & Ownership

As you become familiar with PepKit and our creative style, we want you to begin taking ownership of what we create.

Instead of only receiving:

"Make this."

We eventually want you coming to us with:

"I found this format that's performing really well right now. I think we can adapt it for PepKit, so I mocked up three ideas."

This side of your role will include:

* Researching viral content and emerging social media formats
* Finding high-performing posts, ads, hooks, and visual concepts
* Studying what other brands and creators are doing well
* Looking beyond our industry for creative formats we can adapt
* Developing new graphic concepts without needing a reference for everything
* Finding new ways to present existing ideas
* Identifying trends that could work for PepKit
* Turning winning content into additional variations
* Suggesting new content ideas and creative experiments
* Understanding what makes someone stop scrolling
* Learning from the performance of previous creatives and applying those lessons to new ones

We want someone who is naturally curious about why certain content performs.

If you spend time on TikTok or Instagram and constantly notice interesting ads, graphics, hooks, trends, ---------- s, carousels, or content formats, that's a very good sign.

You Need to Understand Social Media

Being a great designer is essential, but we're not creating magazine layouts or corporate brochures.

We're creating content designed to get attention on the internet.

You should understand that the best-performing social creative isn't necessarily the most beautiful.

Sometimes a polished branded graphic works.

Sometimes an image that looks like someone made it on their phone in 30 seconds performs better.

A great designer for this role needs to understand both.

We want someone who understands, or is eager to deeply understand:

* TikTok
* Instagram
* Reels
* Meta ads
* UGC
* Viral content
* Hooks
* ---------- s and internet culture
* Native social content
* Scroll-stopping creative
* Why people share, save, comment on, or click content

You should be able to look at a viral post and think beyond:

"This got a lot of views."

We want you thinking:

"Why did this work, and how could we use the same concept for PepKit?"

What We're Looking For

The #1 qualification is simple:

You are very good at graphic design.

We're looking for someone with a strong understanding of:

* Typography
* Composition
* Layout
* Visual hierarchy
* Spacing
* Color
* Branding
* Image selection
* Photo manipulation
* Social media design
* Ad creative
* Turning rough ideas into polished visuals

You should be able to look at a reference and understand why it works visually, not simply copy the individual elements.

You should also be capable of creating something from scratch when a reference doesn't exist.

Your portfolio will matter significantly more to us than your résumé.

AI Experience Is a Major Plus

We use AI heavily throughout our creative process and expect AI to become an increasingly important part of this role.

Experience with AI creative tools is a major advantage, especially:

* AI image generation
* AI image editing
* AI UGC
* AI video generation
* Prompting
* ChatGPT
* Claude
* Other creative AI tools

If you're an excellent designer who is curious about AI and comfortable learning new technology, we'll teach you our workflows.

Over time, we want you to become extremely good at combining graphic design + AI + social media creativity.

What the Role Can Grow Into

We're looking for someone we can work with long term.

As you become comfortable with PepKit, we'll gradually introduce more responsibility.

This could eventually include:

* Owning portions of our content calendar
* Creating AI-generated UGC images and videos
* Researching competitors and creative trends
* Maintaining libraries of winning ads, hooks, and creative inspiration
* Repurposing successful organic content into paid ads
* Developing new creative concepts based on performance
* Organizing creative assets and templates
* Scheduling approved social media content
* Helping manage content across multiple accounts
* Building repeatable creative workflows
* Helping improve our AI creative processes
* Identifying opportunities without waiting for assignments

You are not expected to do all of this immediately.

We'll introduce responsibilities gradually as you learn the company, brand, audience, and systems.

But we want to hire someone who wants to grow into this level of ownership.

The Person We Want

You may be a great fit if:

* You're genuinely talented at graphic design
* You have a strong visual eye and notice details others miss
* You understand modern internet and social media design
* You spend time studying content that performs well
* You're interested in why some content goes viral and other content doesn't
* You can follow a reference accurately when needed
* You can also create original concepts when there is no reference
* You're comfortable receiving feedback and iterating quickly
* You're organized and reliable
* You're curious about AI and new creative technology
* You actively look for better ways to do things
* You want ownership rather than waiting for tasks forever

Most importantly, we're looking for someone who can eventually balance execution and initiative.

When we have a specific vision, you should be able to execute it extremely well.

When we don't have a specific vision, we want you to be capable of helping us find one.
