Technician Dispatcher
Position Summary
The Technician Dispatcher is responsible for coordinating and dispatching field technicians to service calls while ensuring timely response, efficient scheduling, and exceptional customer service. This role serves as the primary point of contact between customers, technicians, and internal teams to maximize productivity and meet service level expectations.
The ideal candidate has experience in dispatching, customer service, sales, and field service operations. A strong technical background and the ability to communicate effectively with both customers and technicians are essential.
Key Responsibilities
Schedule and dispatch technicians based on location, availability, priority, and skill set.
Monitor technician schedules and adjust assignments to optimize productivity.
Coordinate with customers to confirm appointments and provide service updates.
Communicate with technicians regarding work orders, schedule changes, and customer requirements.
Handle inbound and outbound calls professionally while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
Identify opportunities to upsell additional services, maintenance plans, or products when appropriate.
Work closely with sales, operations, and technical teams to ensure smooth service delivery.
Track job progress and ensure technicians arrive on time and complete assigned work.
Resolve scheduling conflicts and customer concerns promptly.
Maintain accurate records in the dispatching or CRM system.
Monitor service completion, technician performance, and customer feedback.
Prepare daily dispatch reports and other operational documentation as required.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree is preferred but not required.
Minimum 2 years of experience in dispatching, scheduling, customer service, or a related field.
Sales experience is required, preferably in a service-based or technical environment.
Technical field experience is required, such as working with field technicians, technical support, telecommunications, IT, or similar industries.
Experience using CRM, dispatching, or field service management software is an advantage.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
Willing to work in a fast-paced, shifting environment.
