Podcast Video Editor — Job Proposal
Position Overview
We're looking for a skilled video editor to join our podcast production as a core tea
What You'll Be Doing
Short-Form Content
Cut and prepare short-form clips (Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts) from long-form podcast episodes
Identify the strongest, most shareable
Add captions, hooks, and pacing that keep viewers watching to the end
Long-Form Content
Edit full-length episodes so the final cut tells a clear, compelling story — not just a trimmed recording
Structure pacing, cut dead air, and use editing choices (B-roll, graphics, sound design) to reinforce the narrative of the conversation
Collaborate on the vision for each episode before and during editing
Thumbnails
Create eye-catching thumbnails for long-form episodes and short-form posts using Higgsfield AI
Ensure thumbnails are consistent with our brand look and optimized to drive clicks/views
Tools & Workflow
Riverside.fm will be used to capture and source raw recordings for editing
Higgsfield AI will be used for thumbnail creation/design
You'll also use your own editing software (Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut, etc. — whatever you're most proficient in)
Familiarity with Riverside's export/workflow process is a plus; willingness to learn it is required
What We're Looking For
Proven video editing experience (portfolio/reel required)
Strong sense of story and pacing — able to shape footage into something people want to watch, not just chronologically arrange clips
Comfortable working independently with light supervision
Professional communication — reliable turnaround times, clear updates on progress, ability to take and apply feedback
Bonus: experience editing podcasts or long-form interview content specifically
Bonus: experience with AI thumbnail/design tools (Higgsfield AI or similar)
Compensation
Wage/salary is negotiable based on experience level and scope (per-episode/project rate vs. ongoing retainer). Open to discussing structure that works for both sides as the workload and relationship develop.
Working Relationship
This isn't meant to be a single freelance gig — we're building toward a real production operation, and we want someone who wants to be part of that as it grows.
