JOB OVERVIEW

ABOUT US
18 Wheeler Media LLC is a small, growing media company built by a solo founder — a full-time long-haul truck driver who produces the "Trucker Nightmares" YouTube channel and three sister brands from the road. Our stories are anthology-style: true-crime energy, mysteries, folklore, and dramatized fiction built on authentic trucking life. AI drafts fast; what we need is the human story editor who makes scripts WORTH LISTENING TO — structure, tension, voice, and the discipline to label fact vs. dramatization correctly every single time.

WHAT YOU'LL ACTUALLY DO
- Take story briefs and AI-assisted drafts and edit them into tight, narrated scripts (8-beat structure, cold-open hook, escalation, payoff) in the founder's voice — he records every final script himself in the truck
- Punch up hooks, kill dead air on the page, keep 10–15 minute scripts moving
- Fact-hygiene: separate what's sourced from what's dramatized; flag any line that states an unverified claim as fact, and NEVER let a real, identifiable person be accused of anything a source can't support — this is a hard company rule
- Label dramatization/reconstruction/composite clearly in the script per our standards
- Adapt one master story into variant framings for our sister brands
- Deliver clean, formatted scripts with time estimates, reading directions, and a source list

MUST-HAVES
- Proven scriptwriting or story-editing for YouTube narration, podcasts, true crime, horror, or documentary — link scripts or produced videos you shaped
- You understand spoken-word writing: rhythm, breath, short sentences, tension
- Strong research hygiene: you can tell a sourced fact from a rumor and you care
- Excellent English; American idiom fluency (our narrator is a US trucker)
- Comfortable editing AI-generated drafts hard — rewriting, not rubber-stamping
- Async-reliable; flags problems early instead of going quiet

NICE-TO-HAVES
- True crime / mystery / horror genre background
- Familiarity with YouTube retention (why viewers stay or leave a story)
- Any trucking, logistics, or blue-collar work familiarity — authenticity matters here

HOURS & COMMUNICATION
- Part-time to start (15–25 hrs/week), room to grow toward full-time
- Async-friendly by design: the founder drives a truck for a living. Written briefs in, edited scripts and written notes out. Weekly written check-in.

PAY
PHP 30,000–50,000/month depending on hours and demonstrated skill. There is a paid trial task before hire — a real story brief, paid whether or not you're hired.

HOW TO APPLY
1. Start your application with the word LOGBOOK as the first word of your message. Applications that skip this will not be reviewed — it's how we know you read the post.
2. Link 2–3 scripts you wrote or edited (or videos produced from your scripts). Tell us which parts were yours.
3. Answer these two questions:
- Take any famous story everyone knows. In 3–4 sentences, write the cold-open hook you'd use for a narrated YouTube version. Show us, don't describe.
- A draft you're editing states something damning about a named, real person, but the source is one Reddit post. What exactly do you do with that line?
