JOB OVERVIEW

We’re looking for a reliable and proactive Digital Marketing & Google Ads Assistant to help us generate qualified leads for a UK-based business operating in the energy calculations, building regulations and sustainability consultancy sector.

This is a niche professional services market, so the focus will be on targeting specific, high-intent search phrases and turning relevant website traffic into genuine enquiries and quote requests for our UK team to follow up and convert.

The role will initially be focused predominantly on Google Ads, with opportunities to support SEO, website optimisation and other digital marketing projects as the relationship develops.

The role

You will help us set up, manage and improve targeted Google Ads campaigns across a small group of related websites.

Your initial responsibilities will include:

researching relevant keywords and search intent
setting up and structuring Google Search campaigns
writing and testing ad copy
reviewing search term reports
adding negative keywords
monitoring budgets, clicks, enquiries and conversions
improving campaign performance over time
helping ensure website enquiry and quote forms are tracked correctly
producing clear, concise monthly reports
suggesting improvements to landing pages and conversion journeys

The primary objective is not simply to generate more traffic. It is to generate relevant enquiries from UK customers who need specialist energy calculations, assessments and consultancy services.

Additional work

Although Google Ads will be the main focus initially, there may also be opportunities to help with:

SEO keyword research
on-page SEO
meta titles and descriptions
Google Search Console
Google Analytics 4
competitor research
content planning
landing page optimisation
website updates
reporting across other digital marketing projects

We work with several businesses, so there may be further projects and opportunities available if the initial trial is successful.

About you

We’re looking for someone who:

has practical experience managing Google Ads campaigns
understands keyword research and search intent
can explain performance clearly without relying only on vanity metrics
understands the importance of leads, enquiries and conversions
has good written English
is organised and reliable
communicates regularly and clearly
is comfortable researching a specialist industry
is proactive and willing to suggest improvements
can work independently while following an agreed strategy

Experience with Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Search Console, SEO or landing page optimisation would be an advantage.

Google Ads certification is welcome but practical experience, curiosity and good judgement are more important.

Hours and budget

This is a part-time role beginning with an initial three-month paid trial with a view to scaling up operations and budgets once the project is underway.

The starting budget for ads management is:

£250 per month (£750 across the three-month trial)
The advertising budget will be managed separately and will initially be approximately £330 per month (£1000 across the three-month trial).

The hours and working pattern can be agreed with the successful applicant. We are more interested in finding the right person and agreeing clear responsibilities than requiring fixed UK working hours.

There is potential for the role, hours and advertising budgets to increase if the campaigns perform well and the working relationship is successful.

How success will be measured

We will look at:

the number and quality of enquiries generated
quote form submissions and other conversions
cost per qualified lead
campaign organisation and accuracy
sensible use of the advertising budget
communication and reporting
initiative and recommendations
improvements made during the trial

Because this is a specialist market with a modest initial advertising budget, we understand that performance should be assessed sensibly rather than judged purely on short-term traffic numbers.

How to apply

Please include:

A brief introduction and summary of your Google Ads experience.
An example of a Google Search campaign you have managed.
The approximate monthly advertising budget involved.
The results you monitored and how you improved performance.
Your experience with GA4, Google Tag Manager, Search Console and SEO.
How you would approach advertising a specialist UK professional service with a relatively small monthly budget.
Your expected availability each month (hours you are willing to put towards the project).

Please begin your application with the words “Qualified Leads” so we know you have read the full advert.

Shortlisted candidates may be asked to complete a small paid practical task before a final decision is made.
