About the Role
We're a business coaching firm providing financial advisory services to a growing client portfolio, and we're looking for a hands-on Junior Financial Data Analyst, not a back-office data-entry hire. You'll turn raw financial data (bank statements, P&L statements, balance sheets) into clean reports and dashboards that drive client strategy, working closely with the Financial Analyst.
The right fit has strong data integrity, juggles multiple client deadlines with ease, communicates clearly, and is self-motivated and reliable working independently in a remote setting.
Core Responsibilities
Cash Flow Tracking & Analysis
• Convert client bank statement PDFs into structured Excel databases for analysis.
• Apply Excel formulas and data cleaning techniques to ensure data integrity and completeness.
• Use data validation and VLOOKUP functions to tag each transaction to the appropriate chart of accounts, categorized under cash inflows and outflows.
• Build and maintain pivot tables to summarize cash flow data by period and category.
• Cross-reference client balance sheets to verify debt repayments and accounts payable entries recorded in the bank statement.
• Prepare accurate and complete cash flow trackers for each client.
Profit & Loss Dashboard Preparation
• Receive client P&L statements and convert them into structured databases.
• Create pivot tables and charts to visualize key financial metrics.
• Design and maintain professional P&L dashboards that can be presented to clients.
CEO Summary Reports
• Prepare and clean financial databases for export as CSV files.
• Format and organize data appropriately for AI-assisted summary report generation.
• Coordinate with the Financial Analyst to ensure reports meet quality standards before client delivery.
Data Quality & Process Management
• Perform thorough quality checks to ensure all financial data is complete, accurate, and consistent.
• Maintain organized file management systems for all client financial documents.
• Follow established workflows and standard operating procedures, and suggest process improvements when appropriate.
Administrative & File Management
• Confirm receipt when clients send files to
• Upload files to the directory and rename them per our naming convention.
• Add the client to the Client Queue.
• Log received files to client status.
• Update the Client Command Center for received files.
• Manage the calendar.
• Send finished documents to clients.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience
• 2–4 years of experience in a finance, accounting, or data analysis role.
• Hands-on experience with bank statement analysis, bookkeeping, or financial reporting.
• Experience working with multiple clients or in a professional services / accounting firm is a strong advantage.
Technical Skills
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUP, data validation, pivot tables, and formula building.
• Experience converting PDF documents into workable Excel or CSV formats.
• Ability to build clear and visually effective financial dashboards and charts.
• Familiarity with chart of accounts and standard financial statement structures (cash flow, P&L, balance sheet).
• Comfort working with AI tools (e.g., Claude) to assist in report generation is a plus.
Soft Skills
• High attention to detail and a strong sense of data integrity.
• Ability to manage multiple client deliverables simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently in a remote setting.
• Clear written communication skills for coordinating with the team and flagging issues.
• Willingness to learn, follow structured processes, and adapt as the business grows.
Nice to Have
• Background in business coaching, consulting, or advisory support services.
• Knowledge of financial analysis as it applies to business coaching or advisory clients.
• Experience using cloud-based tools for file sharing and collaboration (e.g., Google Drive, Dropbox).
• Exposure to basic data visualization tools.
