Architectural Technical Designer / Senior CAD Drafter – Residential Architecture & Luxury Interiors

Salary: PHP 50,000–55,000/month
Schedule: Full-Time | Remote | U.S. Business Hours
Location: Philippines

About the Opportunity

We’re looking for an experienced Architectural Technical Designer / Senior CAD Drafter with a strong background in residential architecture to join a growing remote team supporting a boutique U.S.-based luxury interior design firm.

Residential architecture experience is especially important for this role. We need someone who understands residential construction and can independently translate design concepts, sketches, measurements, photographs, and markups into accurate technical drawings, schedules, details, and 3D renderings.

This is not simply a general CAD drafting position. The right candidate should have hands-on experience producing detailed documentation for residential architectural and interior projects, including kitchens, bathrooms, custom cabinetry, millwork, built-ins, finishes, and plumbing.

An architectural license is not required. Relevant residential experience and the quality of your technical work are much more important.

Most Important Qualifications

Residential architecture – this is a key requirement
Finish schedules
Plumbing schedules
Section drawings
Woodwork, millwork, cabinetry, and carpentry-related details
3D modeling and renderings
AutoCAD
SketchUp
Revit
Adobe Photoshop
Excellent written and verbal communication

What You’ll Do

Create and revise detailed residential architectural and interior drawings
Prepare floor plans, elevations, section drawings, and construction details
Develop and maintain finish schedules and plumbing schedules
Produce detailed drawings for custom cabinetry, millwork, built-ins, kitchens, bathrooms, furniture, and other woodwork
Apply practical knowledge of woodworking/carpentry and construction methods when developing technical details
Create 3D models and high-quality renderings for residential interiors
Convert sketches, measurements, photographs, markups, and verbal design direction into accurate drawings
Prepare reflected ceiling plans, lighting/electrical layouts, finish plans, and construction-document packages
Review drawings carefully for dimensions, scale, consistency, accuracy, and completeness
Make revisions based on feedback from designers, architects, contractors, vendors, and fabricators
Use Photoshop and presentation software to create polished visual materials
Organize specifications, dimensions, finishes, materials, and vendor information
Manage multiple projects and revisions while meeting deadlines
Communicate clearly and proactively with a U.S.-based design team
Required Experience & Skills
Minimum 2 years of relevant architectural drafting/design experience
Strong residential architecture background
Strong proficiency in AutoCAD
Experience producing professional architectural and interior construction drawings
Experience with floor plans, elevations, section drawings, finish schedules, and plumbing schedules
Experience detailing woodwork, cabinetry, millwork, built-ins, kitchens, and/or bathrooms
Understanding of residential construction, dimensions, scale, materials, finishes, and space planning
Experience with 3D modeling/rendering
Ability to interpret sketches, markups, photographs, measurements, and verbal instructions
Excellent attention to detail
Excellent English communication skills—both written and spoken
Ability to communicate questions and potential issues proactively rather than waiting for direction
Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with a remote team
Availability to work full-time during U.S. business hours

Software

We are particularly interested in candidates experienced with:

AutoCAD | SketchUp | Revit | Adobe Photoshop | 3D Rendering Software

Experience with PowerPoint, Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, or similar presentation/design software is also valuable.

Woodwork & Construction Knowledge

Because this firm creates highly customized residential interiors, knowledge of woodworking and carpentry is particularly valuable.

You should understand—or have experience detailing—items such as:

Custom cabinetry
Millwork
Built-ins
Kitchens and vanities
Closets and storage
Custom furniture
Wood paneling and architectural details
Construction and installation details

You do not need to have worked professionally as a carpenter, but you should understand how custom wood elements are designed, detailed, constructed, and installed.

The Ideal Candidate

The strongest candidate will have a genuine residential architecture background, rather than experience limited to commercial drafting or general CAD work.

You understand how a residential project comes together—from plans and sections to plumbing, finishes, cabinetry, millwork, and construction details.

You can take a sketch, photograph, marked-up drawing, measurement, or verbal direction and turn it into an accurate professional drawing or 3D representation.

Just as importantly, you are a strong communicator. You ask thoughtful questions when something is unclear, communicate problems early, respond well to feedback, and can collaborate comfortably with designers and other professionals in the United States.

You are organized, dependable, detail-oriented, and take ownership of your work through completion.
