JOB OVERVIEW

Join Astra Street Furniture, a fast-growing Australian street furniture brand, as we scale our product development team
Work directly with SolidWorks-based technical drawings for a physical product range sold across Australia
Fully remote role, Philippines-based, working closely with our Sydney Sales & Product Development team

About Astra Street Furniture
Astra Street Furniture designs and supplies outdoor park and street furniture - including seating, shelters, bollards, bins, and shade structures - to councils, schools, and developers across Australia. Backed by a one-week lead time that sets us apart from the competition, Astra is part of the Area Safe Group, a well-established Sydney-based group of companies with a strong track record in industrial and public-space product supply.

The Opportunity
We're looking for a detail-oriented Product Development Assistant to join our team remotely from the Philippines. This role sits at the heart of how Astra turns product designs into production-ready and customer-facing documentation. You'll work with existing SolidWorks files to produce accurate technical drawings, exploded assembly views, and file formats used across production, sales, and marketing - keeping our drawing register, NetSuite records, and website assets accurate and up to date.

Key Responsibilities
- Create production drawings (PDF, DXF, STEP, etc.) from existing SolidWorks files, with all relevant information required for production
- Create 2D and 3D DWG files from existing STEP files
- Create exploded views from SolidWorks files for use in assembly guides
- Work with the Sales & Product Development team to produce drawings for custom requests on existing designs (e.g. simple component changes, custom lengths, custom lasercut patterns)
- Manage and maintain the drawing register on SharePoint
- Liaise with the Marketing Assistant to ensure all drawing and product files on NetSuite and the website are kept current

About You
- Proficient in SolidWorks, with solid experience producing 2D/3D drawings from 3D models
- Comfortable working across DXF, STEP, DWG, and PDF file formats and converting between them
- Strong attention to detail - production drawings need to be accurate and complete every time
- Well organised, with experience (or the ability to quickly learn) managing a document/drawing register in SharePoint
- Clear communicator, able to liaise confidently with a Sales & Product Development team and a Marketing Coordinator based in Sydney, Australia
- Comfortable working independently in a remote, WFH setup with overlapping hours to an Australian (Sydney) team
- Prior experience in a product development, drafting, or CAD support role for a manufacturing or furniture-type business is highly regarded

Why Join Astra
- Be part of a growing brand within an established, financially stable group of companies
- Genuine input into how our product range is documented and presented, across production, sales, and marketing
- Fully remote role with a supportive, responsive Sydney-based team
- Long-term opportunity as Astra continues to expand its product range and market

How to Apply
Please apply through Online Jobs PH with your resume along and a brief cover note outlining your SolidWorks and drafting experience. Please include examples of technical drawings or exploded views you have produced, if available.
