The Opportunity
The Azure & Hybrid Systems Administrator serves as a core technical resource responsible for the day-to-day management, reliability, and security of Meriton’s server, cloud, and hybrid infrastructure. This role focuses on server lifecycle management, patching and backups, identity and directory services, certificate and DNS management, and modern hybrid operations using Azure Arc and Microsoft 365. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of Microsoft Azure, service management practices, and integration with enterprise applications such as Microsoft Dynamics, ERP, and third-party SaaS solutions.

Responsibilities
· Manage and maintain Windows Server environments across on?premises and cloud-hosted systems.
· Own server lifecycle management, including provisioning, hardening, patching, monitoring, and decommissioning.
· Implement and maintain backup and recovery solutions, regularly validating restore capabilities
· Ensure high availability and reliability through monitoring, alerting, and capacity management.
· Administer Active Directory, including GPOs, domain controllers, trusts, and hybrid identity integration.
· Manage DNS services, name resolution, and related dependencies across hybrid environments.
· Oversee certificate management, including issuance, renewal, monitoring, and expiration prevention.
· Operate and manage hybrid servers and services using Azure Arc for governance, monitoring, patching, and security alignment.
· Support Azure infrastructure components (VMs, storage, networking, identity) as part of a hybrid operating model.
· Contribute to cloud design discussions and modernization initiatives (SaaS, PaaS, IaaS).
· Support endpoint, identity, and collaboration services as they relate to server and directory dependencies.
· Apply and maintain security controls related to identity, access, patching, backups, and configuration management.
· Support compliance, audit, and governance initiatives through documentation and system controls.
· *Create, configure, and manage Azure resources (VMs, storage, networking, identity, and platform services) to meet business and security requirements.
· Maintain and support legacy on-premise servers and associated processes while planning and executing migration to modern cloud services (SaaS, PaaS, IaaS).
· Implement and enforce cloud security standards, including identity and access management, encryption, threat detection, and compliance monitoring.
· Ensure systems are implemented and maintained with monitoring, alerting, and capacity management to support high availability and uptime requirements.
· Provide 24x7 operational support for mission-critical systems, maintaining service continuity and minimizing downtime.
· Manage hybrid and virtualized environments with familiarity in multiple virtualization methods.
· Automate infrastructure provisioning and system management using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or Azure Resource Manager templates.
· Apply IT Service Management (ITSM) practices in daily operations.
· Stay current with industry trends, particularly in cloud security, service management, and Azure services.

The Required Profile
· Minimum 5 years of relevant systems/cloud experience; 7 years preferred.
· Proven expertise in Azure cloud administration and security best practices.
· Experience with IT Service Management (ITSM) practices (e.g., ITIL).
· Proficiency in scripting and automation (PowerShell, Azure CLI).
· Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC), automation frameworks, and DevOps workflows.
· Skilled in monitoring, alerting, and capacity management to ensure high up time.
· Experience providing 24x7 operational support in enterprise environments.
· Experience maintaining on-premise infrastructure and migrating workloads to cloud (SaaS, PaaS, IaaS).
· CompTIA Security- preferred

Required Certification
Candidates must possess at least one of the following Microsoft certifications (all three are preferred):
· Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104)
· Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate (AZ-800)
· Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate (AZ-801

Physical Demands
While performing duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to operate a computer and related equipment. Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
