JOB OVERVIEW

ABOUT US

18 Wheeler Media LLC is a small, growing media company built by a solo founder — a full-time long-haul truck driver who produces the "Trucker Nightmares" YouTube channel and three sister brands from the road. We're building out a real production pipeline (Adobe Premiere, AI-assisted imagery, structured scripts and templates) and need our first dedicated editor to help turn raw footage into finished episodes. This is a genuine long-term seat, not a one-off gig — we're hiring part-time now with a clear path to full-time as the channel grows.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Cut long-form YouTube episodes from a supplied voice track, b-roll folder, and edit template (pacing, sync, basic color/audio cleanup, captions/graphics per template)
- Produce vertical shorts (9:16) from the finished long-form master — re-crop, re-pace, add captions/hooks for TikTok/Shorts/Reels
- Light channel admin: upload finished videos to YouTube Studio, enter titles/descriptions/tags from a provided SEO card, and assemble thumbnails from existing PSD templates in Photoshop or Canva
- Keep files organized and turn work around on a predictable weekly schedule

MUST-HAVE SKILLS

- Solid working knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro (cutting, basic audio leveling, captions, exporting for YouTube)
- Experience producing vertical shorts/reels from long-form source (CapCut or similar is fine)
- Comfortable in Photoshop or Canva for template-based thumbnail assembly (templates are provided — we are not asking you to design from scratch)
- Basic familiarity with YouTube Studio (uploading, scheduling, entering metadata)
- Strong written English for async communication — most of our contact will be through messages, not calls
- Reliable, meets deadlines without heavy supervision, flags problems early instead of going quiet

NICE-TO-HAVES

- Curiosity about AI creative tools (Higgsfield, Firefly, or similar) — we would rather train someone who's interested than someone who isn't
- Prior experience editing for a YouTube channel (not just freelance one-offs)
- Basic YouTube SEO awareness (titles/thumbnails/retention)

HOURS & COMMUNICATION

20 hours/week to start, with room to grow toward full-time as the channel scales. Base timezone reference is US Central, but this is an async-friendly role — the founder drives a truck for a living and is often unreachable for stretches during the day. We care about work delivered on schedule, not real-time clock-punching. Some overlap for a weekly check-in is expected, but you will not be expected to be online during specific US business hours every day.

PAY

PHP 30,000–38,000/month for the 20 hrs/week part-time role, based on experience and speed. This scales up as hours and responsibility grow toward a full-time role. Long-term performers get first offer on the full-time seat when we get there.

HOW TO APPLY

1. Start your application with the word ROADWORTHY as the first word of your message. Applications that skip this will not be reviewed — it's how we know you read the whole post.
2. Include a link to your portfolio or a reel/sample showing at least one long-form YouTube edit and one vertical short you cut (Google Drive, Vimeo, YouTube — whatever's easiest).
3. Answer these two questions in your application:
- What editing software do you use daily, and how many hours a week can you realistically commit right now?
- Describe a time you had to finish an edit with incomplete instructions or missing assets — what did you do?
