About the Channel
Whimsy Monstrum is a new YouTube channel focused on creature creation, animatronics, sculpture, practical effects, workshop builds, unusual adventures, and the development of a 6,000-square-foot creative studio in Texas.
We are looking for a long-term YouTube story editor, not someone who only removes pauses, adds captions, and uses flashy transitions.
We need great graphics, great transitions, sounds that amplify the story and incedible editing with good b-roll and strong video cuts.
You will receive a script or story outline, voiceover, raw footage, interviews, workshop footage, and B-roll. Your job is to find the strongest
The style should feel cinematic but human—purposeful storytelling without excessive effects, nonstop zooms, or distracting
Initial Workload
Two to Three polished 8–10-minute videos per week
Occasional lighter fourth video as the workflow improves
Future videos may grow to 15–20 minutes
Music, sound design, audio cleanup, basic color correction, titles, and tasteful graphics
One main revision round plus minor corrections
Organized project files delivered with each completed video
Compensation
$1,400 USD per month for the first 60 days
$1,750–$2,000 USD per month after quality, reliability, and workflow are proven
Long-term opportunity with room to grow as the channel grows
You Must Have
--- Strong spoken and written English
--- Experience editing published, English-language, long-form videos
--- A clear understanding of story structure, pacing, humor, emotion, and viewer retention
--- The ability to review several hours of footage and make independent editing decisions
--- Reliable communication and consistent availability
--- Adobe Premiere Pro preferred; DaVinci Resolve may also be considered
Experience with documentary, maker, build, travel, adventure, filmmaking, or personality-driven YouTube content is a major advantage.
