About Us
Visual Millwork, Inc. is a custom architectural millwork, metalwork, and stonework manufacturer serving hospitality, healthcare, retail, and corporate interiors globally. We handle the full scope in-house, from design through fabrication and installation. We're looking for a 3D modeler who can take architectural drawings and turn them into models our shop floor can actually build from.
What You'll Do
Build accurate 3D models of custom millwork and metalwork from architectural drawings, shop drawings, and design intent sketches
Produce fabrication-ready output for our equipment: CNC router, CO? laser cutter, panel saw, and related shop machinery
Generate flat patterns and DXF files for sheet metal cutting, with correct bend allowances and material thickness accounted for
Model casework, paneling, custom fixtures, and architectural metal assemblies
Create assembly models that account for real-world construction — joinery, fasteners, substrates, weld conditions, and tolerances
Produce shop drawings and cut lists from models
Work with our engineering and project management team to resolve constructability issues before they hit the floor
Required Skills
Strong proficiency in Autodesk Inventor and Fusion (part modeling, assemblies, sheet metal environment, drawing views)
Skectchup modeling does not apply
Experience producing files for CNC fabrication — you understand that a model going to a machine is different from a model going to a rendering
Sheet metal knowledge: flat pattern development, bend allowance/K-factor, brake and laser cutting constraints
Ability to read and work from architectural drawing sets
Understanding of material thicknesses and how sheet goods, solid surface, and metal stock actually get processed
Strong attention to dimensional accuracy — our models drive real cuts on real material
Strongly Preferred
Prior experience in millwork, cabinetry, casework, and architectural metal fabrication
Familiarity with AWI (Architectural Woodwork Institute) standards
Experience with CNC router nesting and toolpath considerations
AutoCAD proficiency for 2D coordination and drawing production
Inventor iLogic or parametric/configurable model experience
Experience with laser cutting workflows and DXF export standards
