JOB OVERVIEW

ABOUT US

Structmate Pty Ltd is a quantity surveying consultancy based in Sydney, Australia. We produce measured and priced Bills of Quantities for builders and cost consultants across NSW residential and small commercial projects. We have a growing pipeline and need a reliable measurer to work alongside us on a project-by-project basis.

THE ROLE

You will produce detailed take-offs from architectural, structural and services drawings, delivered in our Excel template ready for import into Buildsoft Cubit. We apply the rates and issue the final document - your job is accurate, well-structured measurement.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

- Measuring quantities from PDF drawing sets (architectural, structural, mechanical, hydraulic, fire, electrical)
- Producing trade-by-trade take-offs in construction sequence, using our cost code structure
- Writing clear item descriptions with correct units of measure
- Separating labour and material components where required
- Flagging discrepancies, missing information and drawing conflicts as you go - we want the questions, not silent assumptions
- Delivering in our Excel template, formatted for Buildsoft Cubit import

YOU MUST HAVE

- A degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Architecture or Building/Construction Management - Preferable
- At least 3 years producing BOQs or detailed estimates
- Prior experience on Australian, New Zealand or UK projects - we work to Australian standards and terminology, and this matters
- Strong take-off software skills: Buildsoft Cubit, CostX, PlanSwift, Bluebeam Revu or similar
- Advanced Excel
- Clear written English - you will be raising queries with us directly
- A stable internet connection and the ability to hit agreed deadlines

NICE TO HAVE

- An estimating software preferred.

HOW WE WORK

We start every engagement with a PAID TRIAL - one trade, measured off a real drawing set, at your normal rate. We compare your take-off against our own and give you honest feedback either way. If it is accurate, we move straight to live project work. If work is good, full time work can be provided.

Work is project-based, not shift-based. We do not monitor your hours or your screen - we care about the deliverable and the deadline. You keep your own clients and your own schedule.

RATE

PHP ---------- per hour, negotiable on experience. Fixed per-BOQ fees preferred once scope is agreed.

HOW TO APPLY

Please send:

1. Your CV
2. A sample take-off or BOQ you have produced (redact any client names or confidential details - we understand)
3. The take-off software you use, and your version
4. Your hourly rate, and whether you prefer fixed per-project fees
5. Your typical availability and turnaround for, say, a 120sqm apartment renovation

Start your message with the word CUBIT so we know you have read the ad properly. Applications without it will not be reviewed.

We reply to every applicant who follows the above. Thank you for your interest.
