JOB OVERVIEW

We are an Australian design and marketing agency working primarily with trade and service businesses.

We are looking for someone highly proficient in Microsoft Word document and template design to assist us with creating professional branded templates for our clients. This is a freelance role, Not fulltime position.

Our design team will generally provide the branding, logos, colours, fonts and design assets. Your role will be to take these assets and professionally implement them into functional document templates.

A large part of the role will involve working with templates used in platforms such as Xero, ServiceM8 and other business software, so the documents need to look great while maintaining the required fields and functionality.

Typical Work

You may be asked to create or customise:

Xero invoice and quote DOCX templates
ServiceM8 document templates
Letterheads
Invoice and quote templates
Purchase orders
Job sheets and service reports
Proposal and report templates
Other branded Microsoft Word documents

For Xero projects, for example, we will provide the original Xero DOCX template along with the client's branding. You will customise the existing document while ensuring the Xero fields and template functionality continue to work correctly.

What We're Looking For

You should be highly experienced with Microsoft Word, particularly:

Headers and footers
Tables and advanced document layouts
Styles and typography
Shapes, backgrounds and design elements
Images, logos and icons
Margins, spacing and page setup
Creating clean, editable templates
Maintaining existing merge fields and template structures
Producing sharp, professional PDF outputs
Troubleshooting formatting and compatibility issues

Experience with Xero DOCX templates, ServiceM8, Simpro, AroFlo, Tradify or similar software would be highly regarded.

This is not primarily a graphic design role. We are looking for someone who is very comfortable building and formatting professional documents inside Microsoft Word.
